I'm going to start this call.
With a guided release.
And the topic is.
I should be further along by now.
Just notice.
How that phrase lands,
How that statement.
I should be.
Farther along by now.
In other words,
It's a very common thing.
We,
A lot of us feel that way.
I should be a lot further along in my career.
I should be a lot further along with my life goals.
I should be a lot further along in my personal development,
In my releasing journey.
I invite you just to fill in the blanks.
So,
That's part of being human,
Is that feeling of limitation.
I'm just not fast enough.
I'm not smart enough,
I don't have enough time,
And I should be further along.
Quick personal story just to illustrate this,
And then we'll get into releasing.
My father was a very good saver.
He saved his money,
He invested his money,
And that was a big part of his value system.
And He,
When I was a little,
Starting from when I was a small child,
Actually,
He would sit me down,
And he would also sit my sisters down,
To explain the miracle of compound interest.
Right?
So if you leave your money in the bank,
Obviously accumulates interest and it grows over time.
And if you look at this on paper,
It's quite impressive.
However,
When I was,
Let's say,
18 years old,
My father's graph that he would put together to show me how powerful compound interest,
It would always start with,
Let's say,
10 years previously.
If I had started saving money at the age of 11,
You see where I'm going with this.
There was always,
Always in his message that sense that,
If only I had started earlier.
So just notice how that lands.
Notice how it shows up in the body in particular.
There might be all different kinds of sensations.
Could be a choking sensation,
Could be anything all down the core of the body.
Could be tension somewhere in the body.
The shoulders obviously get the attention,
The attention of tension.
Headaches,
If you're my age,
Anything aches.
Just notice what's happening in the body.
I should be further along by now,
Whatever it is.
Just notice how it feels in the body.
When you believe that you're behind.
And notice also what's going on in the mind,
All kinds of turmoil,
Could be stories,
Could be memories.
Some of us have this very negative voice that actually sounds like a voice.
Others don't.
That may be a surprise.
I don't hear voices in my head.
Never have.
So just notice how your body-mind is reacting to all of this.
And then when you're ready.
Notice how much you want this to be different.
That's the core,
Isn't it?
Notice how much you want this story.
Can be different.
Fuel into that.
And notice also how much this feels personal.
In the end,
Of course,
Who is it who's behind?
It's me.
So just notice how personal this all feels.
And then.
Let's just take one further step.
Can you look through all of that?
Look past all of that,
Look beyond that,
And notice.
What is.
Another way of doing this is to ask yourself,
Am I those feelings?
Am I those thoughts?
Ask yourself.
Or am I the one who experiences this?
Am I aware of thoughts?
Am I aware of memories?
Am I aware of bodily sensations?
Am I that which is aware?
Notice how that automatically creates more space.
And just for a moment,
Could you rest in that space?
And then when you're ready.
Let's go back to the beginning and notice how that feels when I say to myself,
I should be further along by now.
Notice the accusations.
Notice the finger pointing.
Notice that sense of guilt.
I should do this.
Those who know me.
One thing I like to say is that should is the most useless word in the English language.
Maybe it should be,
But it's not.
So just notice that should.
I should be further along.
I should be more together.
I should be more mature.
More wealthy,
Further along my path.
Whatever it is that you find important,
Just notice how you feel short.
And now.
Could you give that permission?
I know you don't want to,
Nobody does,
But could you allow that?
Open to it.
Curiosity helps because.
.
.
It's a useful lens.
Could you be curious?
Just notice what's happening in the body-mind.
In the body,
There may be.
Cramping,
Discomfort,
Sensation.
In the mind,
There could be turmoil.
There could be thoughts,
Memories.
Voices.
And take a breath and just be,
Just be with all of this.
Can you find the one who feels that way?
Now I'm asking you.
To actually have a close look around this internal world.
And C.
Where is that individual?
And there may be some sense of that.
But if there is,
Just ask yourself,
Is that simply more thought,
More sensation?
What is it that means the individual to you?
Just look.
Most people,
In my experience,
Cannot find this.
There is a conviction,
Perhaps.
There's an idea.
There is a memory,
Perhaps.
There is a story.
But right here,
Right now.
Is any of that real?
Is any of that real?
And let's go back one more time.
Notice how it feels when you say to yourself,
I really should be further along.
You find that even the most successful people will say this.
When you hear somebody.
Who really is super successful.
I don't know,
Give me an example,
A famous movie director,
An author,
Somebody you admire.
And you hear them say,
I never really wrote my best song.
By the way,
That comes from Brian Wilson.
You remember him?
The Beach Boys?
He died recently.
And so,
Yeah,
There's been lots of retrospective.
.
.
What a great word.
Retrospective.
A lot of news about him.
And what would you say if I told you that?
Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys,
One of the best-selling bands.
In history.
He truly felt like he'd never actually written his best song yet.
Can you imagine this?
Good vibrations,
Depends if you like it or not,
Whatever.
That man felt he never reached his full potential.
So just notice how that feels,
How that sits with you.
And when you're ready.
Could you let that go?
And would you let that go?
Are you willing?
Okay,
And when?
