Hello my name is Annabelle and today we're going to be looking at the throat chakra.

This is also known as the Vishuddha chakra.

The throat chakra is located in your throat but not the whole throat.

So looking at where your skull meets your spine that specific area is where the throat chakra is.

The throat chakra is all about communication and self-expression.

It's linked to the color blue and if you remember back to the sacral chakra class it is also about feeling safe and releasing our fight-or-flight.

If you think about it you're never going to be able to speak your truth,

Your openness,

If you're scared,

If you're in a state of will I live or will I die which is what fight-or-flight is.

So learning to balance this chakra,

Calm yourself,

Relax yourself,

Find openness and clarity is what this chakra is all about.

So the throat chakra is in charge of the throat yes but it also rules the thyroid,

The mouth and the esophagus.

So looking at our teeth and any dental issues all of this is linked to the throat chakra.

As we said it is all about communication,

Self-expression and how to authentically speak your truth.

So what does a deficient throat chakra look like?

Well it's difficulty expressing yourself,

Fear of speaking up,

Can lead to muteness,

Especially selective muteness which is something that is becoming more and more common.

Having a deficient root chakra can express itself in a variety of ways.

You may notice when you start to speak to someone and you may have the best intention,

You may have practiced how to express yourself fully and then as soon as you get into the situation it becomes much more difficult and you're unable to do that.

It can also include throat problems and neck problems as well.

So waking up with a sore neck,

A tight jaw,

Asking yourself the question of where if anywhere am I fearful of expressing myself,

Especially looking at the jaw of when am I not able to say what I want to and then asking the question am I actually not able to say it or am I just fearful.

Then if we look at an overactive throat chakra,

This can look like over talking people,

Talking way too much,

Trauma dumping on people,

Being very blunt and also having difficulty listening to others.

And also having difficulty listening to others.

It can result in actually not feeling heard even though you are talking more than average.

So looking at the beliefs around the throat chakra,

Asking is it safe to express myself and if that's a no,

Then ask yourself how can I express myself because sometimes it's not always safe and we can't just pretend it is.

So maybe looking at writing letters even if they're never sent and expressing yourself so that you can hear yourself.

Asking did I feel heard in that conversation and if the answer's no,

Is it because you didn't express yourself in the way you wanted or it wasn't received in the way that you wish it was.

Taking ownership of that,

Asking did I enjoy that conversation and did I feel heard in that asking did I enjoy that conversation and how much was I talking in it.

Was it 70% if so why do I need to express that much of myself.

Learning about others and listening to others can be so beautiful and if I did talk that much did I feel heard.

So find balance in this chakra using the mudra and mantra meditation.
