Allow yourself to surrender to this moment.
The bed,
The floor,
Or the surface beneath you is holding you.
There is nothing to manage,
Nothing to fix.
You are safe here.
Bring one hand over your chest and one hand over your belly.
Feel the warmth of your palms.
Notice your breath moving gently beneath your hands.
With each exhale,
Imagine your shoulders dropping lower,
Your jaw softening,
Your eyes becoming heavy.
Now bring awareness to the crown of your head.
Invite the muscles of your scalp to relax,
Loosening even the smallest tension.
Soften across the forehead as though smoothing away the lines of the day.
Relax around the eyes,
Let them sink back.
Release the cheeks and the mouth.
Let the tongue rest heavy in the jaw.
Now let the softening travel down into the neck and shoulders.
Unclench your shoulders.
Release any weight that you've been carrying down through the chest and belly.
Feel your breath rise and fall here like gentle waves.
Soften through the hips and thighs.
Unravel the knees,
Calves and ankles.
All the way into your feet and toes.
Your whole body is heavy now,
Supported,
Safe.
Let yourself sink into this comfort.
Every breath carries you deeper into rest.
Now bring your attention back to your breath.
We'll invite your breathing to become a lullaby for the body.
Inhale gently through the nose for a count of four.
Exhale softly through the mouth for a count of six.
Continue at your own pace,
Letting the out-breath be longer than the in-breath.
Each exhale is a signal to your nervous system.
You are safe.

Add a gentle sigh on the out-breath,
As though releasing a long day.
Notice how the chest loosens,
The heart rate slows,
The body softens even more.
Take a few more rounds now,
Following the rhythm.
Inhale calm.

Feel your whole being start to float in this slower rhythm,
Like a boat rocked gently on calm waters.
Now imagine a soft light beginning to glow around you.
Perhaps it's golden,
Like the first rays of morning.
Or silver like moonlight.
Or a gentle blue like twilight.
Let this light expand with each breath.
First surround your heart,
Then your whole body.
Growing into a cocoon of calm energy.
This cocoon is soft,
Protective,
Nurturing.
Within this space,
No stress can reach you.
No tension can stay.
Allow yourself to breathe inside this glow.

You are completely held.
Nothing can disturb your rest here.

A pure stream of calming life force.

And toes,
