Hello and welcome!
I am Seva.
And today,
Our topic for the meditation will be transitions.
Before we start,
Find a comfortable position for you right here at this moment.
This may be seated,
Lying down,
Or perhaps you want to stay in movement.
The sun to your body.
And then decide whether to keep your eyes open or closed.
Or simply have a soft gaze.
Whenever you have found that position.
Take a slow breath in and out through the nose if that's available to you.
Otherwise just gently breathe in and out through the mouth there is nowhere else to be but right here in this moment Continue noticing your breath.
The gentle movement.
Of your body as you inhale and exhale.
Without having to change anything.
Simply observing.
And as you're settling in this moment,
Bring your awareness to the idea of transitions.
Transitions are a natural part of life.
We move from one season to the next.
From one chapter to another.
From holiday back to work.
From one job to another.
From a relationship,
Place or experience into something new.
Sometimes a transition is something we choose.
And sometimes,
It simply happens to us.
And there are those times when we barely notice that we are already in a transition.
Take a moment to reflect.
On where you are in your life.
Is there something you're transitioning through right now?
Perhaps a change of season.
Change in your work.
A change in your relationships.
Or a change in your daily rhythm.
Or simply a feeling.
That something within you is shifting.
You don't have to answer.
Just notice.
Observe.
Whatever is coming up for you.
How are transitions affecting you?
Do they bring excitement?
Or uncertainty.
Perhaps relief.
Or sadness.
Or hope.
Perhaps there is a mixture of many feelings and things.
Whatever it is,
Allow it to be there.
There is no right or wrong way to experience change.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Allow yourself to soften around whatever you are feeling.
And now gently bring your attention to the idea of letting go.
Every transition asks us,
In some way,
To leave something behind.
So ask yourself quietly.
What am I leaving behind?
Perhaps there is a habit?
A belief,
A role you have been playing.
And expectation.
A worry.
Or something that simply no longer belongs to the next chapter of your life.
You don't have to force yourself to let anything go.
Just acknowledge it.
Recognize what has served you.
And recognize what may now be ready to be released.
Take another breath in.
And as you breathe out.
Imagine.
Creating a little more space.
Space for what is next.
And now,
Turn your attention towards the other side of transitions.
Ask yourself,
What can I take from the old and bring with me into the new?
What have you learned?
What has made you stronger.
What has brought you joy.
What has taught you something about yourself?
What relationships,
Memories,
Values or experiences do you want to carry forward?
Perhaps there is something from the chapter that is ending that you absolutely want to keep.
Be it a lesson,
A quality,
A connection.
A new understanding.
Or a deeper appreciation.
Allow yourself.
To recognize these gifts.
You don't have to leave everything behind.
Some things are meant to travel with you.
And moving forward.
Imagine yourself standing at the threshold between what was and what is becoming.
Behind you is the path you have traveled.
Ahead of you is a path you cannot fully see yet.
You don't need to know exactly where it leads.
You only need to take the next step.
Ask yourself.
What am I leaving behind?
And then ask yourself.
What am I taking forward?
And perhaps one final question.
How do I want to feel as I move into what is next?
Allowing for any feelings,
Emotions,
Words.
Images that may be coming to you when you ask those questions.
Maybe you want to move forward with more trust.
Or courage.
More lightness.
Or presence.
More love.
Whatever comes to you.
Simply receive it.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And then breathe out.
Remember that transitions don't require you to have everything figured out.
They simply invite you to pause.
To notice.
To honor where you have been.
And to become open.
To where you're going.
Life is always moving.
Seasons change.
Chapters close.
New ones begin.
And you are allowed to move at your own pace.
So take one more gentle breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
Feel the ground beneath you that supports you.
Feel your body right here in this moment.
And when you're ready.
Gently bring your awareness back to your surroundings.
Perhaps move your fingers and toes.
And slowly open your eyes if they were closed.
And carry with you what is worth carrying.
And release what is ready to be released.
And step gently into what comes next.
You are not leaving yourself behind.
You are taking yourself forward.
With everything you have learned.
And everything you have lived.
And everything you are becoming.
Thank you.
For sharing this moment together.
For transitioning together.
Namaste.
