Hello and welcome!

My name is Satine Starr and today we're going to be doing a quick body scan and you can use this meditation for your daily meditation and relaxation routine.

Eight minutes to check in with your body and release tension is all you need.

So sit or lie comfortably,

Close your eyes and let's begin.

I want you to start at the top of your head.

Notice any tension or pain and breathe into it.

With every inhale we're going to focus on each area of tension and release it with every exhale.

Now move down to your face and become aware of your forehead.

Breathe into this area and release it.

Now move further down to your jaw.

Unclench it,

Breathe in and release any tension that may be in your muscles of your jaw.

And now we move down to the shoulders.

Taking a deep breath in,

We want to drop them away from our ears and let them relax and melt.

Now we're moving down to the chest.

Taking a deep breath in,

We want to fully expand the chest and release.

Now we're moving down into the stomach area.

This is where we are the most tender and is the softest part of our body.

We want to take a deep breath and relax all of the muscles surrounding and inside of the stomach.

Now we're moving down to the hips and lower back where a lot of us hold tension.

Take a deep breath and imagine you are putting energy into your hips and your lower back.

Exhale and release any tightness you may feel in this area.

Now we're moving down to the legs.

We're starting at the thighs,

Breathing into them and relaxing them.

Now we're moving down to the knees and the calves.

Taking another deep breath in and releasing any tension in our legs while we exhale.

Now we're moving down to the ankles and the feet.

They've been holding you up all day.

So let's breathe into them now and let them relax.

Take a deep breath with me and hold and release.

Now your body is fully relaxed.

You can do a quick scan to see if there's any areas that may still be holding tension and if so,

You can breathe into that area right now.

Remember,

When we breathe in,

We're absorbing positive healing energy and when we exhale,

We're releasing that tension.

So let's go to that space now and inhale with me.

Exhale,

Hold and release the tension in that area.

Thank you so much for joining me with this daily body scan.

I encourage you to come back and continue this meditation as a routine for your body and I hope that this meditation helps you carry relaxation with you for the rest of your day.
