My name is Sangeet and today I want to tell you something.
Many of us wish to have one or more romantic relationships during our life that really function and that make us feel happy and at peace.
Then we experience that one relationship or those several ones and we realize that connecting to people at that level can be very challenging.
And then we start thinking that the problem is that we don't know enough about men or that we don't know enough about women and that we should read all the books in the world about men or women so we can now experience the best relationship ever.
But here's the thing,
There is no such thing as knowing everything about men or women simply because all men and women are different.
And yes,
We are very similar in many ways,
Of course,
Because we are all from the same species but we are all also very unique.
And if we are so concerned about what men or women want or need,
Let me tell you,
What men and women want is pretty much the same that you,
Me and everybody else wants or needs,
Which is to be healthy,
Happy,
Wealthy,
Very much loved and at peace.
We don't have to know anything special or mysterious about men or women or about what they want or need so we can have an amazing and beautiful connection with someone.
And no,
The problem is not so much that we don't know anything about men or women.
The problem is way more that we don't know anything about us.
If there is anything that we need to know is ourselves and the one thing that we need to do is to set healthy boundaries as a result of that.
And then we relate and we connect and everything unfolds much easier.
Animals look similar and have the same basic wants and needs,
Right?
But are males or females all the same in what comes to expression,
Communication,
Interests and preferences?
No,
They are all different.
It is the same with humans.
Whatever we generalize about men or women,
It will always be about a list of things that we force us to fit into and that may or may not resonate with each one of us.
And that usually has only to do with our own experiences and researches and consequently with our belief system.
We humans want to solve and sort everything out so we can finally be happy.
And so we do the same with people.
We want to sort everything out about them and about relationships.
But life doesn't work that way.
We don't just read books and act upon it and everything is just perfect.
If we do that,
We lose the best part of life which is to truly feel,
To truly connect,
To truly be present and also to be happily surprised.
Men or women,
Our essence is what matters.
And then,
Of course,
Being a man or a woman will come with it,
Not as a limited identity,
But as a vehicle to freely experience ourselves and life on earth.
And sure,
Being a man or a woman has its own specific biological characteristics,
But that is only that.
Biological characteristics.
If we truly want to understand a man or a woman,
We stay present with them.
We communicate.
We listen.
We go deep into their thoughts,
Their intentions,
Their dreams,
Their likes,
Their needs.
We go deep into them as they are,
As a blank piece of paper ready to be written,
Because it is them that we want to connect with,
To be with,
To live with.
No one else.
Putting everybody in a box just because they fit into a category takes away the chance to meet someone special that surprises us with qualities that we thought to be impossible.
We take away the possibility to actually meet someone who could match our needs and wants,
Our true nature,
And we stick and settle with whatever we decide to believe in,
Resonating with a general idea instead of resonating with us.
Would we want a partner that behaves in a certain way with us because they read on a book that that is the way to act with a man or with a woman?
No.
We want someone who truly feels,
Cares,
And loves us,
Not a general idea of whatever is in their mind.
Someone who knows how to see and how to read between the lines,
Especially the lines of illusion that takes away the magic that happens when two beings are deeply in love.
We can have all the knowledge in the world about men or women,
And we can even think that we have everything sorted out,
But in reality we couldn't be further from the truth,
Because relationships don't flow out of forced applied instructions.
They flow out of realness,
And that is the difference from connecting to a book or to a person.
Not to mention that every book in this world is written by men and women just like us.
So today,
Every day,
Let's not replace our partners with the generalized idea of men or women.
Let's see and recognize them for who they truly are.
Let's be with them truly,
And let's honor their presence.
Do we want to feel really loved,
Appreciated?
Do we want to feel special,
Unique,
And truly seen?
Them too,
Men or women.
