Welcome to this five minute meditation for letting go of worry.
Begin by finding a comfortable position.
You may be seated or lying down,
Whatever feels most supportive for you in this moment.
Gently allow your eyes to close or soften your gaze.
Let us start by taking a slow deep breath in through your nose and exhale softly through your mouth.
Again,
Breathe in calm and breathing out tension.
Allow your breath to settle into its natural rhythm.
There is nothing you need to change.
Simply notice the breath as it moves in and out of your body.
Now,
Bring your awareness to your body.
Notice where you may be holding worry or stress.
Perhaps in your shoulders,
Your chest,
Your jaw,
Or your belly.
There's no need to judge or fix anything.
Just observe with kindness.
Now,
Imagine each exhale creating a little more space as you breathe out and gently release whatever feels heavy.
Let's breathe in and release.
Let your shoulders soften.
Let your jaw relax.
Let your body feel supported by the surface beneath you.
Now,
I want you to bring to mind any worries that may be present.
You do not need to relive them or analyze them.
Simply notice that they are there like clouds passing through the sky of your awareness.
Imagine placing each worry into a leaf floating down a calm stream.
One by one,
Place each concern on a leaf and watch it drift away.
You don't have to push it.
You do not have to rush it.
Just allow it to move at its own pace.
As the leaves flow away,
Remind yourself,
In this moment,
I am safe.
In this moment,
I am breathing.
In this moment,
I am here.
If your mind begins to wander,
That's okay.
Gently bring your attention back to the breath.
Back to the feeling of letting go.
Now,
Place one hand over your heart and feel the warmth of your presence.
Silently offer yourself these words,
I allow myself to release what I cannot control.
I trust that I can meet life one moment at a time.
Let's take one more deep breath in and a slow full breath out.
Begin to gently bring your awareness back to the room.
Notice the sounds around you.
Notice the feeling of your body.
When you're ready,
Softly open your eyes,
Carrying this sense of ease with you and knowing that you can return to this place of stillness whenever worry arises.
