I will guide you through a short meditation to alleviate stress.
For the best results,
Find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed for the next few minutes.
Sit comfortably,
Either in a chair with your feet flat on the floor or a cushion with your legs crossed.
Rest your hands gently on your lap or knees.
Relax all of the muscles in your body and focus on my words.
Let's begin.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
Inhale deeply through your nose,
Allowing your belly to expand.
Exhale slowly through your mouth,
Letting go of any tension.
Begin to bring your attention to your body.
Notice the points of contact between your body and the chair or cushion.
Starting from the top of your head,
Slowly scan downwards,
Bringing your awareness to each part of your body.
Notice any areas of tension and breathe into them,
Allowing them to soften with each exhale.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breathing.
Feel the cool air as you inhale and the warm air as you exhale.
If your mind wanders,
Gently bring it back to the sensation of your breath.
To deepen your focus,
Start counting your breaths up to ten.
Inhale one.
Exhale one.
Inhale two.
Exhale two.
Inhale three.
Exhale three.
Inhale four.
Exhale four.
Inhale five.
Exhale five.
Inhale six.
Exhale six.
Inhale seven.
Exhale seven.
Inhale eight.
Exhale eight.
Inhale nine.
Exhale nine.
Inhale ten.
Exhale ten.
Begin your normal breathing.
As you breathe in,
Silently say to yourself,
I am calm.
As you breathe out,
Say,
I am at peace.
Repeat this affirmation with each breath,
Allowing the words to resonate with you.
Now,
Imagine a place where you feel completely at ease and relaxed.
It could be a beach,
A forest,
Or a cozy room.
Visualize yourself in this place,
Experiencing the serenity and comfort it offers.
Spend a few moments enjoying this peaceful scene.
When you are ready to end the meditation,
Bring your attention back to your breath.
Take a few deep breaths and begin to gently wiggle your fingers and toes.
Slowly open your eyes,
Taking your time to adjust to your surroundings.
Take a moment to notice how you feel.
Carry this sense of calm and relaxation with you as you continue your day.
Remember,
You can return to this meditation anytime you feel stressed.
With regular practice,
It can become a powerful tool for managing stress.
Please enjoy the remainder of your day.
