This Yoga Nidra practice is a special time for you,
To rest into the knowing that your body is receiving complete nourishment and healing,
And all you have to do is get cozy and listen.
So take the next minute and create a restful and peaceful nest for yourself.
A rest nest that's full of pillows and blankets and anything that comforts you.
Close the eyes or maybe drape a soft cloth over them to block out all the external stimulation.
Now tuck yourself in here.
Assure that your head is comfy,
That the whole neck can be soft and even the jaw can start to unclench.
Sink into this sacred temple of yours that allows you to go into rest ceremony,
That allows you to come completely home to yourself behind closed eyes.
Now take two sips of air through the nose.
Exhale through the mouth.
Two sips in through the nose.
Long breath out through the mouth.
One more time.
And now just exhale into your support as you begin to dissolve into stillness.
Allow your body to dissolve into the sweet loving arms of Yoga Nidra.
As we feel tension starting to drain away,
As our body becomes a little heavier.
Taking a moment to set our intention for Sankalpa,
For the practice today.
A heart's desire for your healing path.
Now let's move our awareness through our body,
Sort of like receiving a full body massage.
Bring your awareness to your left eye.
And both eyes heavy.
Left ear.
Notice both ears listening.
The tip of the tongue,
The whole back of the jaw resting.
The base of the skull sinking down into your pillow.
The sides of the neck.
Front of the throat.
Left shoulder.
Tips of the left fingers.
Left waist.
Soul of the left foot.
Tips of the toes.
Feel the entire left side of the body resting.
The whole left side of the body receiving nourishment.
Awareness back to the heart.
Fingertips.
Soul of the foot.
Tips of the toes.
The whole right side of the body resting.
Right side of the body receiving nourishment.
Feel the whole body including the head and the neck.
Leaning into deep rest.
Feeling the sweet pulse of Mother Earth as you nestle into her arms.
As she holds you and sings to you her song.
Her song of love.
Her song of acceptance.
And her sweet song,
Her lullaby of rest.
Not only does she hold you,
But the whole family.
She holds and sings her lullaby to your whole family.
You are deeply cared for.
Rest into the knowing that this still and quiet time is the seed of all creation of life.
Notice how your body breathes itself.
The gentle movement of your body breathing helps you to cleanse and clear your space.
Just feel the body breathe in and the body breathe out.
Rest deeply.
Everything is lining up.
And in this quiet space,
We'll invite the sankalpa again.
I will let go into rest and allow myself to be fully nourished.
Now take a moment to truly honor yourself for the time that you devote to yourself.
And remember that each day is a gift.
