Once upon a time in a small city with a big heart,

Two jazz-playing cats got their fresh start.

Billy sings the tunes while Miles plays the trumpet so smooth.

The jazz cats produced a sound that served to relax and soothe.

The two jazz cats were sipping some milk at the local speakeasy when they heard a melody that was so light and breezy.

Billy used her improv skills as Miles set the tone.

This new cat named Louie brought the jazz cat sound to a whole new zone.

With Miles on trumpet and Louie on vocals with Miss Billy Day,

The jazz cats became a trio with a whole lot more to say.

The jazz cats were the cat's meow,

If you know what I mean.

They toured all the spots in the downtown Eldon jazz scene.

Wednesday nights they played at Lolo's Treasures on the corner of the block.

Thursdays they were booked at Club Garden of the Goddess Rock.

Friday nights jazz at Joey's followed by Saturdays at a speakeasy called Capone's.

Sundays the jazz cats slowed down to rejuvenate and rest their bones.

Mondays the jazz cats set up at Carl's Barbershop.

They played all morning and through the afternoon they improvised and scatted non-stop.

Tuesdays the jazz cats played the Penthouse Loft.

They played a sublime set that was more acoustic and soft.

The jazz cats were not the only act in town.

However,

As far as jazz bands were concerned,

They surely wore the crown.

The jazz cats can still be heard today.

Their music is all around downtown Eldon where it continues to play.

Many bands still play the jazz cats' songs at their old stomping grounds.

Come by downtown Eldon,

Missouri and listen to the local bands covering the jazz cats' famous sounds.
