Hello and welcome.
This is a beautiful self-love body scan.
So I want to welcome you here,
Wherever you're joining from,
Just taking a moment to arrive.
Allow your body to settle in a position that feels supportive to you.
Allow your hands to rest softly,
Jaw unclenched and your tongue relaxed.
Gently close your eyes.
Now bring a soft awareness to your breath without changing it.
Just notice,
Noticing the natural rhythm,
The inhale,
Exhale.
With every breath,
I want you to draw to mind or imagine that you're placing something down.
Perhaps effort,
Expectation or holding in your body.
You're safe to be here.
And I want you to allow yourself to receive.
So just coming to feel the weight of your body on the surface that it's being held.
Ground down to the earth beneath everything.
Let gravity do the work.
Nothing to hold,
Nothing to do.
Just simply noticing the aliveness inside you right now.
And then let's gently bring our awareness to the crown of the head.
Just imagining a soft spaciousness here.
Like an open sky.
If you're feeling any tension in this space,
Just noticing.
No need to fix anything.
Just allowing what is to come up.
I want you to silently offer yourself the words,
I welcome myself as I am,
Just as you are.
Let's continue to soften the face,
Forehead,
Relaxing the space between your eyes.
Just feeling your eyes heavy,
Rested in the sockets and clenching your jaw.
Just feeling that soft part between your teeth,
Your tongue soft in your mouth.
If any emotions,
Feelings or sensations are present here,
Just let it be.
Let it be held here.
It's safe to soften.
Feeling into the neck now,
The front,
The sides.
Feeling into your back body.
Inviting space between each and every vertebra of the spine.
Bringing attention to your shoulders.
Just noticing what they've been carrying.
On your next exhale,
Let's allow them to drop just a little.
No rush or force,
But just permission to let your body soften.
Feel into your shoulders as a beautiful awareness flows down your upper arms,
Your elbows,
Your forearms.
Gently trickling down into the palms of your hands.
Feeling into the temperature,
The tingling,
The sensations,
Subtle energy as it arrives into your palms and floats to the end of each fingertip.
Your hands that give,
That share,
That serve.
Let them receive now.
Coming back to the space of your heart.
Gently bringing your attention to the center of your chest.
Notice the subtle movements of shift as the breath lives here.
The rise,
The fall.
If it feels right for you,
I want you to imagine,
To see or to sense a warmth,
Perhaps a gentle light filling this space.
And as you imagine this beautiful light,
This beautiful space,
Just bringing to mind the words,
I am worthy of love without condition.
I am worthy of love without condition,
And you are.
Feel into the back of the heart,
Noticing your ribs as they expand and soften with the breath.
The breath moving in all directions,
Front,
Back,
Sides of the chest.
Just resting in this moment,
Resting in this being.
Coming down to your belly now,
Just bringing a gentle awareness.
Let it be soft,
Let it be natural.
Noticing the sensations here,
Any movement,
Any emotion.
In this space I want you to sit with the words,
I trust the wisdom within me.
I trust the wisdom within me.
And are the words,
Like your breath,
To move throughout the space in your belly,
I trust the wisdom within me.
Such a powerful offering.
Let's move down to the base of the body,
The hips,
The pelvis,
The center of support.
Filling into the weight and the grounding,
The stability of this space.
If there's any tightness,
Any sensations here,
Breathe space into it.
Floating down now to our thighs,
Front,
Back,
Into the knees.
Moving down to the calves,
Your shins and your ankles.
Finally coming to rest at the soles of your feet.
Feel the connection to the earth here.
Steady,
Strong.
Now let's sense the body as a whole.
Nothing missing and nothing extra.
Just simply being.
Allowing your awareness to widen here.
Spacious and so open.
Almost as if your body is floating.
And just rest here.
As we begin to bring our practice to a close,
I want you to softly invite deep breaths into your body.
And as your senses begin to come back into the space,
Invite some soft movements into the fingers and toes.
And when you're ready,
My friend,
Slowly open your eyes.
Take your time to return.
