Meditation for Ujamaa Cooperative Economics.
Ujamaa is celebrated on the fourth day of Kandah,
Which is December 29th.
Ujamaa means cooperative economics.
It promotes the idea of building and supporting businesses that benefit the collective well-being of our community.
So let's meditate on the principle of Ujamaa.
Let's first take a moment to ground yourself,
Connecting with your breath,
Connecting with the richness of your breath.
As you inhale,
I breathe the energy of prosperity.
And as you exhale,
Release the feelings of lack.
Inhale the richness of prosperity.
Exhale the feelings of lack.
And let's do that one more time.
Inhale through your nose.
Exhale through your mouth,
This time making it longer than before,
Fully releasing all of the energy.
Now imagine a bustling marketplace.
Imagine the colors,
The sounds.
Look at all the vendors.
Hear the laughter.
Feel the joy.
And see all the services and goods being exchanged.
Now picture yourself supporting one of the vendors or services,
And you in turn being supported by them.
There is prosperity in this space.
There's richness in this space.
You are receiving as well as giving.
And now let's connect with some affirmations for the principle of Ujamaa.
So I am invested in the community's prosperity.
I support businesses that uplift our shared goals.
My resources flow towards mutual growth.
I create opportunities for collective success.
As we thrive together,
Abundance multiplies.
Now take a moment to reflect on how you can actively support businesses,
Local businesses,
Shared resources,
Or contribute skills that uplift your community.
Happy Kwanzaa.
