Welcome,
I'm Dr.
Stacey Dutton,
A neuroscientist,
College professor,
And wellness guide.
This meditation is created to help you embrace the changes and uncertainty that come with perimenopause.
This phase of life is filled with transformation,
And though it may feel unpredictable,
It is also an invitation to connect more deeply with your body and inner wisdom.
Let's take this time to reflect,
Release,
And find strength in the unknown.
I invite you to find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down,
And gently close your eyes.
Rest your hands on your lap,
On your belly,
Or wherever feels most supportive.
Begin by taking a few deep grounding breaths.
Inhale deeply through your nose,
Feeling your chest and belly rise.
Exhale slowly through your mouth,
Releasing any tension.
Let yourself settle into this moment,
Allowing everything else to fade into the background.
Start by bringing your awareness to your body.
Notice the points of contact,
Your feet on the floor,
Your back supported by the chair or cushion.
Feel yourself grounded,
Stable,
And held by the earth.
Now,
Gently shift your attention inward.
Notice any sensations or emotions arising.
There is no need to judge or fix anything.
Simply observe.
Allow yourself to feel whatever is present,
Whether it's discomfort,
Uncertainty,
Or curiosity about this phase of life.
Whatever you feel is okay.
You are safe to experience it.
Now let's turn our attention to the breath.
As you inhale,
Imagine that you are breathing in softness and spaciousness.
As you exhale,
Let go of any tightness or resistance you may be holding in your body or mind.
With each breath,
Invite in acceptance.
Inhale acceptance of the changes you are experiencing,
And exhale the need to control or understand everything right now.
As you breathe,
Remind yourself that it is okay not to have all the answers.
Life's transitions often carry uncertainty,
And yet they also hold potential for growth and renewal.
Now,
Imagine yourself standing in an open field.
The sky above you is vast and open,
Filled with soft clouds moving gently across.
A warm breeze flows around you.
Like the uncertainty of this phase,
Sometimes unpredictable,
But always a natural part of the journey.
As the breeze touches your skin,
Feel yourself standing tall and strong.
The wind represents the unknown,
But instead of resisting it,
You allow it to move through and around you.
The changes you are experiencing may feel like this breeze,
Sometimes gentle,
Sometimes strong,
But they do not knock you over.
You stand rooted in your inner strength.
Visualize yourself embracing this breeze,
Knowing that with each gust you become more flexible,
More open to change.
You do not have to understand or control everything.
I'm going to say that again.
You do not have to understand or control everything.
Like the wind,
Life moves and shifts,
And you are capable of adapting with grace.
Now let's say some affirmations to further support your journey.
Silently repeat these words to yourself,
Or simply listen and allow them to resonate deeply within.
I trust my body's wisdom during this time of change.
I am strong and capable,
Even in uncertainty.
I release the need to control,
And I embrace what is unfolding.
I am growing,
Evolving,
And becoming more of who I am meant to be.
Feel these affirmations setting in,
Grounding you in strength and trust,
Even as life shifts and changes around you.
As we begin to close this meditation,
Take a moment to reflect on the strength that resonates within you.
Though perimenopause may bring changes that are unfamiliar or uncertain,
It also brings the opportunity to deepen your connection within yourself.
You are capable of flowing with these changes,
Just as you flowed with all the transitions before.
When you are ready,
Bring your awareness back to your body.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
Feeling grounded and present.
Carry this sense of trust and acceptance with you as you move through your day,
Knowing that,
Even in the unknown,
You are resilient and strong.
As you return,
I invite you to reflect on this suggested journal prompt.
And it is,
What practices,
Boundaries,
Or supports would help me feel more grounded and nourished as I navigate these shifts?
How can I gently incorporate these into my daily life?
Thank you for sharing this time with yourself.
You are on a journey of transformation,
And you're doing oh so beautifully.
Namaste.
