A meditation for Kumbha.
Creativity.
Kumbha is celebrated on the sixth day of Kwanzaa,
Which is December 31st.
Kumbha means creativity.
It inspires us to always do as much as we can to leave our community more beautiful and more beneficial than when we inherited it.
So let's take a moment to meditate on this principle.
So go ahead and find yourself a comfortable seat,
Connecting with the ground beneath you,
Feeling the breath move in and out of your body.
And then I invite you to go ahead and listen to the sounds around you.
What do you hear?
Smell the air around you.
What does it smell like?
The surface you're sitting on?
Connect with this texture.
Immerse yourself in the environment that you are in.
And then gently begin to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Breathe in through your nose and then out through your mouth.
Breathe in through your nose this last time and then gently force all the air out of your lungs.
Breathe and then relax.
Now picture a blank canvas in your mind.
Watch as vibrant colors,
Shapes,
And even patterns emerge.
Look at the picture.
What do you see?
How can you connect with that image?
How does that image make you feel?
You are capable of creating and building whatever it is in this life,
Just like that picture,
Bit by bit,
Task by task.
You are in charge of your creative endeavors.
You have a unique creative spirit that this world needs.
Show up in it and do your best work.
Here are a few affirmations to guide the spirit of Kumbha.
Creativity flows through me effortlessly.
I bring beauty and innovation to all I touch.
I am inspired to build a better world.
Each act of creation is a gift to my community.
I use my talents to leave a lasting impact.
Now take a moment to reflect on a project,
Relationship,
Or challenge in your life.
Visualize using your creativity to transform it into something beautiful or meaningful.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
Happy Kwanzaa.
