Meditation for Imani.

Faith.

Imani is celebrated on the seventh day of Kwanzaa,

Which is January 1st.

It is the last day of Kwanzaa.

Imani means faith.

It urges us to believe with all our hearts in our people,

Our parents,

Our teachers,

Our leaders,

Our ancestors,

And the righteousness of our struggle.

Now let's take a moment to meditate on the principle of Imani.

So take a moment to find a seated position.

Get yourself grounded into the space.

You want to be mindful of your posture,

Sitting with your head over your heart,

Heart over your pelvis.

Roll your shoulders back.

Drop your shoulders away from your ears and just fully sink into this space.

Bring your awareness to your breath.

You want to inhale deeply,

Drawing in faith and trust.

Exhale,

Releasing fear and doubt.

You want to inhale through your nose,

And then exhale through your mouth.

Inhale through your nose,

And then exhale through your mouth,

Fully releasing all the air in your body.

And let's connect with this moment.

And let's imagine ourselves standing beside a serene lake.

Its waters reflecting the sky.

How does the lake make you feel?

Can you smell the water?

Can you hear the water?

This lake symbolizes clarity,

Hope,

And unwavering trust in life's journey.

The water is dynamic.

Sometimes it's gentle.

Sometimes it's still.

Sometimes it's rough,

Just like life.

But water is sustaining.

It's nurturing.

It provides us all of the nutrients we need for life.

Be like the water.

And so let's connect with a few affirmations to support us in the principle of Imani.

I believe in myself and my community.

Faith guides me through every challenge.

I trust in the goodness of my journey.

My faith strengthens me and those around me.

Hope and belief illuminates my path.

So lastly,

Let's take a moment to reflect on a time when faith carried you through uncertainty.

Let this memory strengthen your trust in yourself,

Your trust in your community,

And the greater good of this world.

Thank you for meditating with me.

Happy Kwanzaa.
