Go ahead and find a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down.
Let your hands rest softly wherever they fall,
Allow your shoulders to drop.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose,
Gently exhale through your mouth,
Again,
Slow inhale,
Long steady exhale.
Let your breathing begin to soften,
Just allow yourself to take a moment to yourself.
Now imagine yourself beside a quiet river,
It's early morning,
The air is cool but gentle,
There's a soft light touching the water,
You are safe here.
Notice the sound of the water moving,
It's quick,
No rushing,
Not stagnant,
Just flowing,
Steady,
Continuous,
Effortless.
Take a slow breath in,
And as you exhale imagine your thoughts drifting into the river.
Simply place them in the current,
Watch them float downstream.
Another inhale,
And on the exhale release any tension in your jaw.
Let the river carry away worries,
Let it carry away urgency,
You do not have to hold everything alone.
If a thought appears,
Picture placing it gently on a leaf,
And let that leaf float away.
You don't chase it,
You simply watch it go downstream.
The river knows how to move,
Just like it can take away our thoughts.
Your breath knows how to move,
Trust the flow,
Feel the ground beneath you,
Stable,
Supportive.
The river moves,
But you are grounded.
Another slow inhale,
Long exhale,
Let your breath and the river move together now.
Inhale,
The water rises slightly,
Exhale it smooth and settles.
Everything in its own rhythm.
You are allowed to slow down,
Release all the stress.
Just like the river,
You can move without force.
Take one more deep breath in,
And a long breath out.
When you're ready,
Begin to bring awareness back to your body.
Notice your hands and feet,
And when it feels right,
Open your eyes.
You can return here anytime.
Blessings.
