Find yourself in a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down,
Somewhere you can be supported and at ease.
And if it feels safe to do so,
Gently close your eyes or lower your gaze.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose,
Allowing your belly to rise.
And exhale softly through your mouth,
Perhaps with a sigh.
Let your body sink a little deeper into the surface beneath you.
Take another deep breath in,
Filling your belly,
Your ribs,
Your chest.
And release again,
Letting go of the effort it took to arrive here.
You've made it,
You're here.
This is your time to rest and return.
As we begin to settle into stillness,
Let's take a moment to honour the four directions,
The sacred compass that connects us to the world around and within.
Each direction holds its own wisdom,
Its own medicine.
Take a steady breath in and a long,
Slow breath out.
Let's begin.
To the east,
Air.
Turn your awareness towards the east.
The place of new beginnings,
The rising sun and first light.
The soft whisper of breath and wind that moves through all things.
Feel the freshness of air filling your lungs,
Clearing your mind and awakening your spirit.
Silently affirm to yourself,
I breathe deeply.
I welcome clarity and renewal.
To the south,
Fire.
Bring your attention now to the south.
The direction of warmth,
Vitality and transformation.
The spark of life burns quietly within your chest.
Even when life feels slow or still,
Your inner flame continues to glow.
Feel its gentle heat,
Its steady courage.
And quietly affirm to yourself,
I honour the flame within me.
I move through life with purpose and passion.
To the west,
Water.
Now turn your awareness to the west.
The place of water,
Emotion and intuition.
Imagine standing beside a calm lake at dusk.
Its surface still and reflective,
Mirroring the fading light of the day.
Allow this image to remind you that stillness is powerful.
And your feelings,
When met with compassion,
Can flow freely and heal.
Affirm silently to yourself,
I allow my emotions to flow with ease.
My inner waters are calm and wise.
To the north,
Earth.
Finally bring your attention to the north.
The direction of earth,
Stability and wisdom.
Feel the solid ground beneath you.
Imagine the soil,
The stones,
The roots of ancient trees.
The deep knowing that earth is always there to hold you.
To remind you that you belong.
Affirm quietly to yourself,
I am grounded,
I am supported.
I am part of the earth and she is part of me.
Now return your awareness to your centre,
Your heart.
Feel the balance of the elements within you.
The air that fills your lungs.
The fire that lights your spirit.
The water that moves through your body.
And the earth that supports your every step.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Allow these elements to harmonise within you.
Bringing you into balance,
Presence and peace.
Begin to bring gentle awareness to your body.
Notice where you might be holding tension or tightness.
Those small pockets of resistance we often carry without knowing.
Breathing to those places now,
Inviting them to soften,
To release and to melt.
Gently ask yourself,
How am I feeling in this moment?
What has my mind been repeating today?
What has my body been whispering or asking for?
Within you lies a sacred flame.
A fierce and loving fire that has been with you from the beginning.
A dancing spark of pure light,
Carrying the energy of compassion,
Truth,
Intention and creation.
This flame is ancient and wise.
It remembers you even when you forget yourself.
Begin to visualise this inner flame.
There's no right way.
Where do you sense it living within you?
Maybe in your heart,
Maybe in your chest,
Maybe somewhere else in your body and that's okay.
What colour does it glow as it moves?
Is it red,
Purple,
Yellow,
White or something entirely your own?
How large is it?
How bright?
How alive does it feel today?
Stay connected to your breath as you witness this flame.
Your inner flame is unconditional and eternal.
When it goes untended,
It can grow quiet.
When you care for it,
It grows strong and vibrant.
Ready to guide you through the changes and uncertainty of life.
There are moments when the world feels unpredictable,
When hope softens,
When plans dissolve,
Perhaps when the path ahead feels hazy.
In these moments,
Your task is to turn inward and awaken your flame,
To nourish it,
To trust it and to let it lead you towards the life that feels true to you.
Bring warmth and care toward this flame now.
Imagine that you are surrounding it with love,
Hope,
Trust,
Compassion and gratitude.
Feel how this fire radiates through you,
Steady and generous.
And know that your light can awaken the light in others without losing any of its strength.
Your fire heals,
It softens,
It lifts.
The more you nurture it,
The more your presence becomes a lantern for those around you.
And this world needs your glow.
Let your flame move in whatever way it wants.
Let it dance,
Let it brighten,
Let it settle.
Let it expand through your whole being,
Filling you with the reminder that you are connected to something vast and wise.
This flame carries your original essence,
Your soul's own frequency.
It is your guiding light.
Ask yourself gently,
What small or tender action can I take to feed this flame today?
What will help me feel more alive,
More connected,
More myself?
Rest here for a few breaths.
Let the warmth settle into your heart,
Your belly,
Your whole body.
When you are ready,
Bring your awareness back to the weight of your body and the sensations around you.
Slowly deepen your breath.
Wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes,
Bringing in some gentle,
Soft movement.
Notice how you feel now without needing to explain it.
Just be curious.
And when the moment feels right,
Opening your eyes and returning to this space,
Carrying your inner flame with you.
Namaste.
