This meditation is an invitation to rest in the quiet knowing that you are already Love. You are enough. There is nothing to prove, nothing to earn, nothing to become. You are already held and always embraced by Infinite Love.

This guided meditation is about love and knowing that we are already love,

Knowing that you are already love and really reimagining the concept of love and how we perceive it.

This has been a journey that I've been on lately.

I have come to see how love is so misunderstood and so heavily defined.

This idea of knowing that we are love is quite cliche maybe or simple,

But it is profoundly radical.

And when it really lands that we are not separate from love,

That we are not lacking,

When it really lands in the heart,

Then the search for anything,

Anything outside of ourselves ends completely.

And there is this indescribable peace that comes within,

This peace that says and that feels like you are enough and you are worthy and you are just magnificent,

Simply magnificent as you are.

As I have begun to experience this love,

I have started to just sense into what it feels like in its pure form and it has felt abundant and free and all-encompassing and accepting and so deeply liberating because there is nothing that I have to do.

And I really want to share that with you,

This idea that there is nothing,

Absolutely nothing that you have to do but simply recognize that you are love,

Know that you are love and rest and just rest in that.

And there is this beautiful poem that I read recently by the Sufi poet Tawiz and it really speaks to the practice that I want to invite us into today.

The poem says,

Just sit there right now,

Don't do a thing,

Just rest.

For your separation from God is the hardest work in this world.

Let me bring you trays of food and something that you like to drink.

You can use my soft words as a cushion for your head.

And the poem is called,

Just sit there.

Just sit there right now,

Don't do a thing,

Just rest.

And I think it always makes me smile just that thought that our separation from God is the hardest work,

It's that separation that has created so much strife,

So much desire to fix,

To improve,

To become,

To do all these things.

When that is rooted in this idea of lack,

It becomes exhausting because nothing is ever enough.

And I really feel that because it has been my own experience to just never feel like it is enough,

To never really rest.

And so as I've begun to know this pure,

Abundant,

Free,

All accepting form of love and to know that I am it,

I often imagine this ocean,

This infinite ocean of love that I am just submerged in.

And so in our practice as we begin that invitation to rest,

I invite you to find a comfortable place to just lay down.

Lay down if you can and find somewhere to just have a quiet moment.

And as you lay down,

Just feeling your body,

Feeling this container,

This sanctuary that you have to recuperate,

Feeling supported wherever you are laying,

Softening your gaze or closing your eyes if you haven't already,

And then just beginning to notice your breath.

As we rest,

The invitation is really to allow your body to gently unfold,

And to release any holding or any form of efforting,

Because there is nothing for you to do here.

And as you begin to feel this unraveling,

I'm just inviting you to bring this image of this infinite ocean of love,

Its vastness,

Its expansiveness,

Knowing that it is both in you,

But you are totally surrounded and submerged in it.

And this ocean,

I tend to also see as this essence,

The essence that we are in the essence of life and its beauty,

And how it moves in every living thing,

How it permeates our experience,

If we allow it to.

How might we soften enough to really embrace that truth,

To really let it in,

To really let it transform us entirely,

Entirely.

This ocean in its very natural sense is the water that nourishes us,

So let your mind sort of feel into or imagine,

Experience what it is for that water to nourish your body and to nourish your life.

How would it move?

What would it change?

And this invitation is simple and profoundly radical.

The invitation is to stay here in this ocean for as long as you need,

And let every part of your being,

Every cell of your being remember and know that you are love.

For as long as you are here giving yourself this space,

You are free to follow your breath,

Just simply letting this ocean,

This water of love radiate.

Know that any separation that you have felt is like a passing cloud,

Just noticing that it passes and there is this invitation to come back to that which is greater,

That which transforms,

That which heals,

That which is the truth that we are love.

Thank you for being here with me.
