Short Insight Story: The Man And The Snake

This is a short story, one of many, that has been designed to help those who hear it gain some form of new insight, knowledge or wisdom. These short stories can be used to teach children just as much as they can remind adults of important virtuous qualities.

Transcript

One day there was a man who saw a snake being burned to death.

He decided to take it out of the fire.

When he did,

The snake bit him,

Causing excruciating pain.

The man then dropped the snake and the reptile fell straight back into the fire.

The man then looked around and found a metal pole and used it to take the snake out of the fire,

Thereby saving its life.

Someone who was watching nearby approached the man and said,

That snake bit you,

Why are you still trying to save it?

The man replied,

The nature of the snake is to bite,

But that's not going to change my nature,

Which is to help.
