Greetings and welcome to the Reclaim Me Introduction Series for Men.
What do you need?
For many men,
This can be one of the most uncomfortable questions they'll ever be asked.
What do you need?
Not what needs to get done.
Nuts!
What everyone else needs from you.
Not what you're supposed to need.
But actually,
What do you need?
Many men have spent years focusing on providing.
Performing.
Protecting.
Well,
Do think.
Giving attention to everyone else's needs while slowly losing touch with their own.
And over time,
This can create exhaustion.
Disconnection.
Frustration and a feeling that something important is missing.
And it's not because you're weak.
Or because you're failing.
It's because you're a human being and every human being has needs.
They have needs for rest,
For connection,
For meaning,
For support,
For belonging,
For joy.
A purpose.
It's part of the human experience.
Is part of our human rights.
Every one of us has needs.
And I invite you just to take a moment to ask yourself.
What am I needing more of right now?
And just allow.
Whatever arises to be here,
To be present with you without.
Judging it.
Because you don't need to judge it.
You don't need to fix it.
You don't need to explain it.
Just notice it.
And then if it feels okay in here,
In your system.
You can ask,
What's one?
Small way.
I could honor what I need this week.
One small leg.
Not next month.
Not next week.
Not next year.
Not someday,
But this week.
Today.
Because reclaiming yourself often begins with small choices.
Small acts of honesty,
Small moments of self-respect,
Small moments of self-honoring.
The truth is.
.
.
Having needs.
Does not make you weak.
And ignoring them.
Does not make you strong.
We all have a need.
For water.
And by ignoring that need,
It can do damage to our bodies.
To our organs.
And it can result in death.
We all have a need.
For food.
And by ignoring that need.
Things start to break down because our body starts to feed on itself.
Having needs does not make you weak.
Ignoring them does not make you strong.
But paying attention to them.
By addressing them.
It makes you wise.
It allows you to maintain your strength.
It allows your body.
To be able to continue serving you.
With strength.
For today's reflection,
I wanna invite you just to.
Explore the question.
What need?
Have I been pretending?
I don't have.
Take the time to really sit with that and be honest with yourself,
Allowing whatever needs to come forward to be able to share with you in truth.
What need?
Have you been pretending that you don't have?
And if you wanna go a little bit deeper with that.
Why?
Have you been pretending?
What is behind the pretense?
Thank you so much for joining me.
And my invitation to you is to continue to give yourself permission.
Too fully inhuman.
Thank you and bye-bye for now.
