Hello,
Welcome to Inner Haven Somatic Meditations.
I am Megan and I will be guiding you through a meditation to help you find your center.
This is a space to come home to yourself.
To soften into stillness and remember the quiet strength that lives at your core before we go deeper Take a moment to check in with yourself.
Asking gently.
What might help me feel just a little more supported right now?
Maybe it's adjusting your seat,
Grabbing a blanket taking a deep breath or even pausing to sip some water.
Whatever it is,
Let it be an act of care for yourself.
These small shifts matter.
They whisper to your body,
I am safe and I am cared for.
Feel free to pause the meditation and come back when you are ready Now,
Take a moment to notice where you are.
Looking around the space you're in slowly and gently.
Let your eyes wander and land on something that feels comforting or beautiful.
Notice the colors the shapes.
The textures.
This practice is called orienting,
A way of reminding your nervous system that you are safe here and now You slowly continue to look around your space.
Being sure to look above you behind you.
And below you And when you're ready,
Allow your gaze to soften or close your eyes if that feels good to you.
Feeling the support beneath you whether you're sitting,
Lying down,
Or resting in another position.
Allow yourself to be held and allow yourself to arrive Bring your attention to the places where your body meets the ground.
Your feet,
Your legs.
You're back.
Or wherever you are resting.
Feel the weight of your body being held by the earth Notice the way gravity supports you.
Steady and constant.
Slowly begin to scan through your body.
From your head.
All the way to your toes with a soft curiosity noticing what sensations are here where you may feel tightness or warmth,
Tingling or openness There's nothing to fix.
Just notice and welcome whatever you find Starting at the crown of your head moving down to your ears.
Your jaw.
Your neck.
Down to your shoulders your heart center your belly Your hips.
Your knees their shins.
Your ankles and your feet.
Your elbows your wrist and your hands.
Again just noticing and welcoming whatever you find here allowing it to be as it is.
Now,
Gently bring your attention to your breath.
Notice the natural rhythm of your inhale and your exhale.
If it feels good to you.
Place a hand over the center of your chest or the middle of your belly or wherever it feels like your center is located today As you inhale,
Imagine drawing in steadiness,
Balance,
And calm.
And as you exhale,
Imagine releasing anything that feels heavy or scattered.
Again inhaling steadiness,
Balance,
And calm.
And exhaling,
Releasing anything that feels heavy or scattered.
Doing that a few more times.
Now we will move into a gentle breathing rhythm,
Inhaling slowly for a count of 4,
Holding for 2,
And exhaling for a count of 6 on your next inhale.
Slowly inhale for 2,
3,
4,
Hold Exhale 5 4 3 2 1 Inhale 2 3 4 Hold Exhale 5,
4,
3,
2,
1 Continue for a few rounds letting each exhale carry you closer to your center Return to your normal breathing pattern and if it feels comfortable Place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly.
Notice the warmth of your own touch Notice your heartbeat.
Your breath moving under your hand.
Silently,
You might say to yourself,
I am here.
I am safe.
I am home.
I am here.
I am safe.
I am home.
Either keeping your hands here or letting your hands rest wherever they feel most soothing Begin to invite small organic movements.
Like you're moving from the very center of your being Maybe it's a slow sway of your spine a gentle roll of your shoulders Soft circles with your wrist or ankle.
There's no right or wrong here just moving in any way that feels nourishing letting your body guide you Allow this movement to radiate outward like ripples from a stone dropped into water.
Staying here for a few moments on your own with this intuitive movement flowing from your center Gradually allow the movement to grow smaller.
Like a wave settling back into the sea.
Coming to stillness when it feels complete for you.
I invite you to take a final deep breath in filling your lungs with spaciousness and a slow,
Full exhale releasing it all One more time if that feels good for you,
Filling your lungs with spaciousness.
And exhale,
Releasing it all,
Allowing sound to come if it needs to.
When you feel ready Gently open your eyes or lift your gaze noticing how you feel maybe more calm,
Clear,
And centered.
Carry this sense of balance with you as you move through the rest of your day.
Know that you can always return here.
To your breath,
To your body,
And to your center.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
