That thought,
That problem.
You've been turning it over in your mind enough for today.
The same thought,
Different angles,
Looking for the answer that hasn't come yet.
But that's okay for now.
This isn't the first time you have been here.
You made it through that experience last time.
So let's have faith that you have the ability to do it again.
Let's put it down for tonight and allow your body to rest.
Just for tonight.
Lie down or sit.
Whatever you have.
Eyes closed.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Let it take your weight.
Breathing through your nose,
Slow.
Long exhale through your mouth.
Again.
Breath In Make the exhale longer.
Breath out.
And again.
Breath in.
Breath out.
Return to a normal pattern of breathing.
Your body already knows how to rest.
We're just reminding the mind.
Notice the thinking that's still there.
Don't fight it.
What is the mind trying to solve right now?
Just name it,
Quietly,
To yourself.
Now ask.
Can this be solved tonight?
Honestly.
If not.
.
.
Then the mind is working for nothing right now.
See,
The mind that won't stop It's doing what it was trained to do.
Solve.
Protect.
Stay ahead of the problem.
But there are things that can't be solved by more thinking.
They need time,
Distance,
Sleep.
The answer you're looking for.
It's more likely to come tomorrow morning than at midnight tonight.
Take a breath.
And as you exhale,
Imagine setting the problem down.
Not throwing it away,
Just putting it somewhere safe.
Where it will wait,
Without you having to hold it.
Breathe again.
Breath in… and let a little more go.
Breath out.
You've done enough thinking today.
More than enough.
One last breath.
Breath in.
Breath out.
It will still be there tomorrow.
And you'll be better placed to meet it after you've rested.
Not tonight.
Long pause.
Rest now.
Music.
