What does acceptance mean to you? “Acceptance - For now, this is what this situation, this moment, requires me to do, and so I do it willingly.” - Eckhart Tolle. We can acknowledge that we are not where we want to be, however this is how it is for now. When we accept the situation for what it is, it helps us to let go of resistance.

Welcome to today's meditation.

We are now going to focus on our breath.

Please close your eyes when you are ready and make sure that you are in a comfortable position.

Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth during this meditation.

In today's meditation we are going to think about what the word acceptance means to us.

Eckhart Tolle says that wherever you are,

Be there totally.

If you find your here and now intolerable and it makes you unhappy,

You have three options.

Remove yourself from the situation,

Change it or accept it totally.

Breathe in through your nose,

Pause and breathe out through your mouth.

Deepak Chopra describes acceptance as the following.

I will practice acceptance.

Today I will accept people,

Situations,

Circumstances and events as they occur.

I will know that this moment is as it should be because the whole universe is as it should be.

I will not struggle against the whole universe by struggling against this moment.

My acceptance is total and complete.

I accept things as they are in this moment,

Not as I wish they were.

Bring your attention back to your breath.

Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.

There is a misconception that to accept means that we are okay or happy with everything.

This is completely untrue.

When we are working towards acceptance,

We are allowing ourselves to experience whatever is in that present moment without resisting or trying to control or fix the situation.

Now take a few moments to think about how you would define the word acceptance and just continue to breathe in and out in your own time.

You can continue to meditate in your own time or you can bring your attention back to your body and when you are ready,

Please open your eyes and come back into the room.
