Whatever you are feeling right now,
Just pause.
You are safe here.
I know the mind is racing,
I know the thoughts feel loud,
But you don't have to fight them.
We are just going to step back from them.
Bring your attention to your hands.
Just notice them.
Are they clenched?
Let the fingers soften.
Let the palms open.
Now notice your jaw,
Let it drop slightly.
Notice how that signal travels down your neck,
Into your shoulders.
Let the weight of the world drop off your shoulders.
Anxiety tries to tell us there is an emergency,
But look around you right now.
In this immediate moment you are okay.
The ground is holding you,
The air is present.
Let's reset the system together,
Breathe in deeply through the nose,
And a long,
Slow exhale out through the mouth,
Like you are blowing out a candle,
A cannon,
Slowing everything down.
Imagine you are sitting by a wide,
Calm river.
Your thoughts are just leaves floating on the surface.
You see them,
You acknowledge them,
But you let them float by.
You don't have to jump into the water,
Just watch them go.
You are the observer,
You are not the anxiety,
You are the stillness behind it.
Stay with this stillness for as long as you need,
There is no rush to return,
You are anchored,
You are safe.
