Right now, No one needs anything from you. Perhaps that feels strange. Perhaps it feels like relief. This practice is for the hour you get to be alone. Not lonely. Alone. On purpose. Settle wherever you are. Let the room be quiet around you. Or let its sounds just be sounds. You do not have to fill this space with anything. It is already complete with you in it. Take one unhurried breath. And let it leave No one is watching this breath. It can be exactly as deep. Or as shallow as it wants. But notice what happens when there is no one to perform for. The face relaxes. The posture stops explaining itself. This is you. In your own company. And it is good company. Solitude is not an empty room. It is a full one. Full of the person you rarely get uninterrupted time with. Let this hour introduce you again. My own company is a place I can rest. Repeat quietly in your own time. I do not have to be needed.
