You've just undergone surgery. Your body and mind are in a tender state and need some gentle tending. Let's give you that loving kindness now, while setting you up for complete and perfect recovery. This gentle post-surgery healing meditation invites you into a sacred space of profound self-compassion and restoration. Through mindful breathing and a nurturing body scan, you'll release tension and embrace your innate healing potential. Divine light flows through each cell, touching your spiritual, emotional, and physical being with transformative energy. Surrender now to the present moment, embracing sensations and emotions with loving awareness, while visualizing the vibrant health that is in your future.

This is a meditation for rest,

Recovery,

And healing post-surgery.

Allow yourself now to get into a comfortable position,

Either seated or lying down,

Remembering that this is the time to be very gentle with your body.

Be sure you're warm enough,

You've got pillows or blankets,

And are able to change position if necessary.

Don't worry,

Your comfort is key.

We'll start by setting an intention that you are here now to relax,

Feel well,

And treat your body with presence and kindness.

Your body has experienced a shock physically,

And even maybe emotionally,

So kindness is key right now.

Realize that by paying caring and loving attention to yourself right now,

You are setting yourself up for a full and speedy recovery.

Now just settle in and begin to notice your breath.

Don't do anything to change your breath right now,

Just observe it.

As you breathe in and out,

Notice that this breath you are breathing is the animating and sustaining part of you.

You may even say it's the most important part of you.

You came into this life with your first breath,

And you'll leave it with your last,

So every breath in between is what affords you life here on planet Earth.

When we focus on our breath,

We can center and calm ourselves and tap into the more vast and spirited part of ourselves that is unbounded.

This objective and aware part of ourselves abides in a constant state of oneness with our whole,

Healed,

And perfect self.

This part of ourselves also has ever-present access to miraculous energy,

And since miracles collapse time and space,

Tapping miraculous energy right now can not only amplify your capacity to heal,

But exponentially quicken the healing process of your body.

You need do nothing more than gently and awarely focus on your breath.

Breathe,

And receive the miraculous healing this affords.

Now,

As you breathe in and out,

Just notice how you feel.

Notice any body sensations you are having,

Perhaps as a result of your surgery.

And as you notice how your body feels,

At the same time,

Just stay aware of your breathing.

We're going to do a body scan now,

And as we move along to embrace each part of your body with love and healing light,

You can imagine that that part of the body is so relaxed that it is melting like warm butter melting.

We'll begin with your head.

Notice your head,

And the weight of your head,

As it relaxes and sinks down into your pillow,

Or whatever is supporting you now.

Now,

Notice your neck and shoulders,

And as you breathe into your neck and shoulders,

On the exhale,

You are letting go and melting into the space that you are in.

Just melting in.

And as the space you are in takes your body weight now,

It is supportive of you,

And you feel gently embraced and protected now.

Bringing your attention to your arms,

Notice how heavy your arms are.

Allow them to melt now into the space that you are in.

All the way.

Coming to your torso now,

Your chest and your upper back.

With each breath,

You are relaxing more and more.

Feeling the weight of your body sink in and melt into the space that you are in.

And on every exhale,

You let go,

Let go,

Let go,

And sink in and melt even more.

If at any point you get distracted by sensations or pain in your body,

Just allow that.

See if you can explore the sensations,

Noticing them with awareness,

Seeing exactly where the sensation begins and ends.

Just breathe into them and watch with awareness.

Kind and gentle and embracing of yourself.

Now allow yourself to come back to noticing your lower torso.

Breathing healing energy into this part of your body.

Bring your awareness to your abdomen and lower back.

Feel these parts of your body completely relax now and melt into the space you're in.

Soft,

Soft,

Soft.

You feel completely supported and protected and so very,

Very relaxed.

And then allow yourself to feel your buttocks all the way down your legs,

Your ankles and feet.

Letting them grow heavier and heavier.

Sinking in and melting now onto the couch or bed or whatever is supporting you.

On the next exhale,

Even more deeply relax.

Now allow your attention to gently become aware of the part of your body where you've had your surgery.

You may want to place your hands over the area or you may not.

Whatever is most comfortable or possible for you now.

Just keep in mind your intention of loving kindness.

Embrace your body now with your heart,

Mind and soul.

Your body has experienced a shock and a sudden change.

And this is the perfect time to tap into the changeless,

Ever present and all embracing part of you.

The spirit of you,

The breath.

Allowing it to touch your body with its capacity for healing.

Just allow your breath to go to the place where you've had surgery.

As you gently breathe into the space that needs healing and love and kindness most.

And now as you ever so gently breathe into this space,

Feel yourself becoming open to greater and even spontaneous healing.

Just allow yourself to be with whatever is going on as you continue to gently breathe.

Always being kind and aware while observing objectively and with utmost love.

Maybe there's a lot of energy going on here within your body,

Many sensations.

And you may be feeling thoughts or emotions,

Even fears connected with the surgery.

Let yourself observe them all,

Even the uncomfortable ones,

Knowing it's all okay.

Whatever you are feeling or thinking,

It's okay.

Just relax and observe,

Knowing everything is bringing you to greater healing.

Just acknowledge all of your thoughts and feelings.

Let them come up and let them go.

Again,

This is something significant that has happened.

And so you may find that your thoughts and emotions are heightened at this moment.

The most important thing is that you are now being kind and loving with yourself.

This is the first phase of healing,

So just be with yourself,

Knowing that it's natural to go through such feelings as part of your recovery.

This is how you recover.

Every moment you are loving yourself,

You are healing more and more.

You can feel it all and let it go.

Offering it all to the divine to heal.

Ask the divine now to join you in your healing,

So that you may heal on all levels that will benefit you most,

Spiritually,

Emotionally,

Mentally,

Vitally and physically.

See your body healing now from the inside out through all five of your bodies.

Begin by seeing your spiritual body now as full of light and radiating through you.

And with each breath,

A bright,

Bright,

Beautiful and miraculous healing light emanates brighter and brighter from within your core,

From the divinity within you,

Tangibly touching you now and healing you now.

Now as you breathe out through your emotional body,

You feel as though you are wrapped in a healing,

Soft,

Down comforter of love.

So soft.

And wrapping your entire body in healing light as though it's perfect and precious.

Now breathe into your mental body,

Your mind,

Allowing your next breath to clear out all fearful,

Worried and negative thinking entirely.

Like a fresh breeze blowing through your awareness and allow yourself to know and embrace thoughts that you are cherished and loved and cared for impeccably and that you are welcoming of wellness now on every level.

Now feel your vital body becoming vitally recharged,

As though you have plugged in now and are getting a surge of powerful healing energy from the divine.

Your perfect healing light source.

Bask in this light and healing love.

In this light and healing love.

And finally,

Feel your physical body being ultra responsive now,

As it deeply relaxes and becomes more and more receptive to your fully embodied perfect healing now.

Every moment you are healing.

Every moment you are feeling better and better.

Every moment you are healing.

Every moment you are feeling better and better.

Every moment you are healing.

Every moment you are feeling better and better.

And if you are ready now,

You can offer all of the thoughts,

Feelings and sensations you are having up to the divine for healing.

Everything.

Just let it go.

Let it go.

Let it go.

Let it go.

And invite the divine and all of its powerful presence to send you even greater healing energy now,

So that you may heal on every level.

Just feel that energy flow into you now.

Feel it flow in,

Of and through you.

Healing miraculous energy.

Healing everything it touches.

Just invite that healing energy in for a few moments.

And if anything uncomfortable arises,

Just open it to this divine healing energy,

As you allow the divine to wash over it.

Knowing the divine will heal you entirely in whatever way is best for you.

Feel yourself now fully embracing of and embraced by divine healing light.

You are surrounded in bright,

Warm healing light.

It radiates through you,

Touching each and every cell,

Organ and system of your body.

All parts of your body are embraced by this powerful,

Unconditionally loving healing light.

You welcome this healing now with all of you.

You surrender and relax into this healing now.

Now before coming out of meditation,

See a vision of yourself as though you can peer into the future,

To see yourself now thriving and enjoying your life fully.

You are happily engaged with others who you love in fun and joyful activities.

You feel relaxed,

Blessed and alive,

And full of enthusiasm and love.

Now allowing yourself to take three nice big deep in-breaths,

And three deep full out-breaths,

If that's comfortable for you.

You can either remain here with your eyes closed,

Resting for a while,

Or open your eyes slowly to bless the healing space that surrounds you now.

Knowing you are loved,

Welcoming miracles to become very evident in your healing,

And a tangible part of your life now,

Moving forward.

Know that you are cherished,

And you are loved,

And you are.
