Hello everyone.
And welcome.
My name is Mark and thank you so much for taking the time to click on this video.
It's really lovely to have you here.
I'd like to share something that's.
.
.
Become very personal to me over the last few years really.
It's a simple four,
But.
.
.
One.
That has really changed the way I look at my own life.
And that's the idea or thought that I had.
It's never too late to begin again.
I think so many of us reach a point in life when we start to wonder if we've ever been.
Missed our chance.
We look around and see of the people who seem and settled in confidence.
Or really certain about where they're going in life.
While we're still sat here.
Just trying to work ourselves out.
And That's a feeling that has been there.
Really familiar to me.
Over the years.
There have been a lot of periods in my life when My mental well-being was Challenging.
And for a long time I felt different from people around me.
As I come to.
Understand a little bit more about my own neurodivergence.
Many things about my life have begun to make a little bit more sense to me,
I guess.
For years I carried this feeling that.
.
.
I just didn't quite fit in.
And that perhaps.
.
.
Everyone else around me understood something about life that I somehow Mr.
Memeron.
And as time passed.
Another thought crept into my head.
And that's the thought.
Maybe I've left it too late now.
May be the opportunity to find my place to be.
Share what mattered to me.
Or to do something that felt right.
Meaningful.
Had gone and passed.
And yet.
.
.
Here I am now,
Approaching 50 in a few months.
Sharing my words.
Guiding meditations and offering sound baths and.
.
.
Speaking to people in ways I never ever imagined I'd had the confidence to do.
Even 18 months ago.
But don't get me wrong,
That doesn't mean I've suddenly become super confident or.
.
.
Fearless.
I always still get nervous when I speak in front of people or press record on here for lives.
I still.
.
.
Relentlessly question myself.
I still.
.
.
Experience impostor syndrome and wonder whether.
.
.
Like,
Who am I to talk about the things I'm talking about?
To be doing what I'm doing?
And those feelings haven't just disappeared.
I think probably what has changed is.
.
.
That I no longer wait for.
Every doubt just to disappear before I begin.
I've realised that confidence doesn't always come first.
Because sometimes.
We take the step while our voice is still a little shaky.
And confidence grows because.
.
.
We kept taking those steps.
There's still times now where I talk in front of people and maybe my voice shakes a little.
And.
.
.
Yeah I'm a bit nervous but it's good to take that step to to you See confidence follow after you've taken and not before.
If that makes sense.
And I say all of that and I wanted to share that because I know that that feeling isn't just mine.
A lot of people,
So many of us,
Carry around the idea that life somehow has a timetable that We should have found our direction by a certain age.
Or healed by a certain age.
Or become.
.
.
Perfectly confident by a certain age.
And we should be by now be living the life.
We always imagined.
But in truth,
Life very rarely unfolds like so neatly.
A lot of people discover what they love early in life.
By others.
Find it much later.
And that's OK.
Some people are starting new careers in their 50s some land.
New skills in their 70s.
Some finally give themselves permission after.
.
.
Decades and decades of trying to fit someone else's expectations.
Next year.
I'm turning half a century old.
Wow,
That's scary to see.
But.
.
.
Instead of seeing that as something to fret or worry about.
I'm beginning to see it as more of an invitation.
And that's not because 50 somehow has some significant magical meaning.
It's more because I'm finally allowing myself to believe that.
There is still more life to live.
There is loads more to learn and.
.
.
More of myself.
To put out there to share.
Of course your story will be different from mine.
You may be younger,
You may be older.
But if you find there's a part of you that's.
.
.
Been saying inside that it's.
.
.
Too late for me now.
Really gently encourage you to do that.
Really question that thought.
And that's not because.
.
.
Every dream will unfold exactly perfectly as we imagined.
All that because life.
Will suddenly become easy.
Today still holds choices.
Today.
Contains infinite possibility.
And as I say,
You don't need to begin perfectly.
You don't need to find every answer and you really don't need to feel completely ready.
Because I think that sometimes.
.
.
All that's needed.
Is the willingness to take the next.
Authentic Honest Steps If there's one thing I'd love for you to take away from this.
.
.
Chill.
Video conversation.
It's probably this.
The past.
May explain where you are.
But the past doesn't have to decide.
Where you go next.
Thank you so much for listening.
Spending these few minutes with me.
And whatever stage in life you're in.
I hope he will leave with.
Just a little bit more hope.
A little bit more.
Self-compassion and perhaps a reminder that it may not be too late after all.
Have a beautiful rest of your day.
Go in peace.
Namaste.
