Mindful Breathing with Music,
Or MBM for Students,
Session 1.
Many different peoples throughout the ages have known that music can help you relax.
Music is made up of special kinds of sound waves,
Made by something that causes the molecules in the air to move a certain way.
Some say that the human voice doing this was the original music maker.
So let's see how we can use our creative imagination by using music and our breathing muscles to help us relax.
First,
Let's get into a comfortable position,
Noticing how your feet on the floor are feeling,
How the earth's surface is buoying them up.
And now take in a deep breath with me.
Breathing in through the nose.
And breathing out through the mouth.
Noticing how when you breathe in through the nose,
The muscles in your stomach and those moving your ribcage expand outward.
And noticing when you blow the breath out through the mouth,
How those same muscles return to their original position.
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
And breathe in slowly.
And let the breath go slowly.
Now,
Hearing some calming music,
Taking it into your body and in your imagination and letting it go,
Releasing it out into the body,
Music flowing through the body.
