Welcome to this meditation,
During which we're going to be giving ourselves the gift of deep abdominal breathing.
This is the way of breathing that is most related to a relaxed body and brain.
While the mind may become more alert,
It may also become more relaxed and less judgmental,
Less critical of yourself and others.
With time and practice,
This way of breathing can begin to form new,
More relaxation-inducing patterns.
And this way of breathing can,
With time,
Generate relaxation and clearness of mind.
First,
We will listen to a meditative narrative,
And then we will hear some relaxing music.
To help locate the focus of this relaxation-inducing breathing,
We're going to do the following.
So to begin with,
Let's get into a comfortable sitting or lying down position.
This is the place and position you're going to feel most comfortable,
Your warm nest.
Make sure that your spine is straight,
But not stiff.
And taking a couple big breaths with me.
And release the breath.
And breathe in again.
And let the breath go.
And now,
Settle in.
Now placing both hands in the middle of your abdomen,
If it feels natural.
Breathing in through the nose.
And while doing this,
Pushing the muscles of your abdomen lightly outwards and downwards.
And now,
Blowing the air out through the mouth,
While allowing your abdominal muscles to pull in lightly,
Returning to their original position.
Now,
Letting go of the structured breathing.
Take a couple of big,
Deep breaths.
One more time.
And then breathing normally,
While in this relaxed state.
Give yourself the time you need,
Following your own rhythm and tempo.
Noticing how your abdomen is becoming warmer with every inhalation,
And with every exhalation,
More and more relaxed.
In your own tempo,
Continuing breathing in.
And breathing out.
And breathing in.
And releasing the breath.
Next,
We're going to continue to breathe in,
In your own tempo and rhythm.
Imagining the air filling your whole being during inhalation.
And during the exhalation,
When releasing the breath,
Experiencing a wonderful sense of release and relaxation.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
And letting the music stream through your whole being.
Thank you.
