I'm so grateful you're here with me today.
In this sacred moment,
We will explore the gentle art of self-compassion,
A soft embrace for your heart and mind,
Especially in times of anxiety.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position.
You can sit or lie down,
Whatever feels best for you right now.
Allow your body to settle into your chosen position,
Feeling supported by the surface beneath you.
Take a moment to adjust,
Ensuring that you are comfortable and at ease.
Let's take three deep breaths together.
Inhale deeply through your nose.
Hold it for a moment.
And exhale slowly through your mouth.
Let's do that again.
Breathe in.
Hold.
And out.
One more time.
Inhale deeply.
Hold.
And exhale completely.
As you breathe,
Notice how your body begins to relax with each exhale.
Allow yourself to let go of any tension or distractions from your day.
This is your time to unwind.
Imagine for a moment that you are standing at the edge of a vast forest.
An enchanting place filled with towering trees that whisper secrets of serenity.
The air is fresh and fragrant with the scent of pine and earth,
Inviting you to step inside this sanctuary of calm.
As you take a step into the forest,
Feel the soft ground beneath your feet,
Grounding you in this moment.
Each step brings you deeper into the embrace of nature,
Where worries fade like echoes in the distance.
In this peaceful forest,
Let's turn our attention inward.
Bring to mind a moment when anxiety felt overwhelming,
A time when your heart raced and your thoughts spiraled like leaves caught in a whirlwind.
Acknowledge this experience without judgment.
It is part of being human.
Now imagine that you can gather all those swirling thoughts and feelings into a small,
Gentle cloud above your head.
This cloud holds your worries,
Fears and anxieties,
Everything that feels heavy right now.
As you observe this cloud,
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Visualize releasing those worries into the cloud.
Feel the weight lifting from your shoulders as you let go of what no longer serves you.
With each breath out,
Imagine this cloud growing lighter and softer,
Like cotton candy drifting away on a gentle breeze.
Now,
Let's invite self-compassion into our hearts.
Picture a warm light beginning to glow within you.
A radiant light that embodies the warmth of nature.
Picture a warm light beginning to glow within you.
A radiant light that embodies kindness and understanding.
This light is your inner compassion,
Always present and waiting to be embraced.
As you breathe in deeply,
Imagine drawing this warm light up from within your heart and filling your entire being with its soothing warmth.
Let it wrap around you like a comforting blanket on a chilly night.
In this moment of self-compassion,
Repeat these affirmations silently or aloud.
I am enough just as I am.
I give myself permission to feel what I feel.
It's okay to be anxious.
I am here for myself.
I embrace my imperfections with love.
Feel these words resonate within you as if they were whispers from an old friend reminding you that it's okay to be human,
To feel deeply and authentically.
Now,
Envision yourself standing tall in the forest,
Surrounded by the beauty of nature.
The trees swaying gently in agreement with your self-compassionate heart.
You are not alone.
The universe embraces you as you embrace yourself.
You are not alone.
The universe embraces you as you embrace yourself.
Take another deep breath in,
Allowing this sense of compassion to settle deeper within you as we prepare to conclude our practice today.
Know that this self-compassion is always available to you.
Whenever anxiety arises or life feels overwhelming,
Remember this warm light within,
Your sanctuary of kindness.
Take one last deep breath in.
Slowly begin to deepen your breath again,
Bringing awareness back into your body.
Wiggle your fingers and toes gently,
As if waking from a restful sleep.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes if they were closed or gently lift your gaze back into the room around you.
Thank you for sharing this self-compassion meditation with me today.
Carry this sense of warmth and kindness with you as you move through the room.
Carry this sense of warmth and kindness with you as you move through the rest of your day.
Remember that at any moment,
You can return to this practice whenever you need peace.
