Hello there,

Beautiful soul.

I'm delighted you've chosen to join me for this moment of self-care.

In the tapestry of our busy lives,

You've woven in this precious time for yourself,

And that's something to celebrate.

Today we'll embark on a journey through your body,

Releasing tension and inviting in calm.

This practice is like a gentle rain washing away the dust of stress,

Leaving you refreshed and renewed.

Let's begin by finding a position that feels comfortable and supportive.

You might choose to lie down or sit in a relaxed posture.

Take a moment to settle in,

Allowing your body to be fully supported.

Now,

Let's take a cleansing breath together.

Inhale deeply through your nose,

Feeling your lungs expand.

And exhale slowly through your mouth,

Letting go of any immediate tensions.

Let's do this twice more at your own pace,

Each breath an invitation to relax more deeply.

As we begin our body scan,

Imagine a warm,

Soothing light at the crown of your head.

This light represents awareness and relaxation.

As we move through your body,

This light will flow downward,

Melting away tension wherever it touches.

Start by bringing your attention to your forehead.

Notice any tension you might be holding here.

As you exhale,

Let that tension soften and dissolve.

The warm light spreads across your forehead,

Relaxing the muscles.

Move your attention to your eyes and cheeks.

Allow the muscles around your eyes to relax,

As if you're gazing at a beautiful distant horizon.

Feel your cheeks softening,

Releasing any held tension.

Now,

Focus on your jaw.

Many of us carry stress in our jaws without realizing it.

Gently part your lips and let your jaw relax.

Feel the tension melting away as the warm light envelops this area.

Let's move down to your neck and throat.

Imagine the warm light flowing here,

Soothing any tightness.

Allow your neck to feel long and relaxed,

As if gently supported by a soft pillow of air.

Bring your awareness to your shoulders.

Notice if you're holding them up towards your ears.

As you exhale,

Let them soften and drop.

Feel the warm light spreading across your shoulders,

Dissolving any knots of tension.

Now let the light flow down your arms.

Feel it moving through your upper arms,

Elbows,

Forearms,

Wrists,

And finally to your hands and fingers.

Imagine each muscle releasing and relaxing as the light passes through.

Bring your attention to your chest and upper back.

As you breathe,

Feel your chest expanding and your back spreading.

Let the warm light soothe any tightness here,

Allowing for a sense of openness and ease.

Move down to your abdomen.

Place your attention here and notice how it rises and falls with each breath.

Let the warm light spread through this area,

Releasing any held tension and allowing for deep,

Relaxed breathing.

Now focus on your lower back.

This area often holds a lot of stress.

Imagine the warm light gently massaging this region,

Melting away any discomfort or tightness.

Bring your awareness to your hips and pelvis.

Let the warm light flow here,

Releasing any tension you might be holding.

Feel a sense of grounding and stability in this area.

Let the light continue down your legs.

Feel it flowing through your thighs,

Knees,

Calves,

And ankles.

Notice any sensations here and allow any tension to dissolve with each breath.

Finally,

Bring your attention to your feet.

Feel the warm light spreading through your feet all the way to your toes.

Let any remaining tension melt away as if it's draining out through the soles of your feet into the earth.

As we complete our journey through your body,

Take a moment to notice how you feel.

Your body has travelled from tension to relaxation,

From stress to calm.

Each part of you has received attention and care.

Now imagine that soothing light expanding to envelop your entire body in a cocoon of warmth and relaxation.

Feel a sense of wholeness and peace washing over you.

Take a deep nourishing breath,

Filling your relaxed body with fresh energy.

As you exhale,

Let go of any remaining tension or stress.

When you feel ready,

Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes,

Reawakening your body.

Perhaps stretch in any way that feels good to you,

Honouring the relaxation of your body.

Perhaps stretch in any way that feels good to you,

Honouring the relaxed state you've cultivated.

Slowly,

Gently,

Open your eyes if they've been closed.

Take a moment to notice your surroundings.

Carrying this sense of calm with you.
