Good morning and welcome to this moment of calm before the day begins.
I'm really glad you've joined me for this morning meditation.
By choosing to start our day in this way,
We're making space for stillness,
Clarity and intention.
Together we'll create a foundation of peace and centeredness so you can move through the day carrying this sense of love and confidence and calm.
So,
Please begin by finding yourself a comfortable position.
You might choose to sit upright with your hands resting gently on your lap or you can sit cross-legged,
Perhaps on a cushion,
Or you can,
Of course,
Lie down if that is what feels right for you.
Whatever position you choose to go for,
Just give yourself a moment to settle in and when you settle in,
Just allow your eyes to softly close and then take a nice deep breath in,
In through the nose.
Feel the air filling your lungs,
Expanding your chest and belly.
Hold it gently for a moment at the top and then exhale slowly out through your mouth as if sighing out all the tension in your body.
We're going to do this together two more times.
Inhale deeply,
Hold briefly at the top and exhale slowly.
Feel the weight of your body beginning to relax and now taking one more deep breath in through the nose,
Slight hold at the top and in your own time sighing out tension out through the mouth.
Awesome,
Just allow your breathing now to find a natural,
Easy rhythm.
Feel the air as it flows in and out.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
There's no need to change or control anything,
Just observe.
See if you can take on a sense of compassionate curiosity about the nature of your default experience.
As you breathe,
Imagine each inhale filling you with a sense of calm as though you're drawing in a soft,
Warm light.
With each exhale,
Imagine releasing any tension,
Letting go of anything heavy or unnecessary.
Now see if you can take on a sense of calm,
Now see if you can picture yourself in a quiet,
Peaceful place.
Imagine standing at the edge of a beautiful,
Still lake.
The water is so calm it reflects the sky above,
A soft palette of pinks and golds as the sun begins to rise.
Feel the cool,
Fresh air on your skin.
Hear the faint sounds of nature around you,
A gentle rustle of leaves,
Perhaps the soft call of a bird.
The lake's surface is perfectly still,
Mirroring the stillness you are cultivating within yourself.
Take a moment to feel the air around you.
Take a moment to breathe deeply,
Feeling your body relax further with each exhale.
As you gaze at the lake,
Notice how its stillness begins to reflect in you.
The calmness of the water becomes the calmness in your mind.
Imagine now that you are stepping closer to the lake.
As you look down,
You see your reflection.
This is the calm,
Centered version of you,
Steady,
Clear and grounded.
Greet this version of yourself with love and acceptance.
Let yourself rest in the knowledge that this calm is always available within you.
And for the next few moments,
Simply rest here in your beingness.
There's nothing to do,
Nowhere to go and no one to be.
Just let yourself exist fully in this moment,
Connected to your breath and the stillness within you.
If your mind begins to wander,
That's okay.
Just gently guide your attention back to the sensation of your breath flowing in and out.
We're going to take a few minutes here to just simply be.

Now,
Let's invite some gentle affirmations to deepen this sense of calm and balance.
Repeat these words either silently or aloud,
Letting them settle into your heart.
I am calm and centered.
I am grounded in peace and in love.
I move through my day with clarity and with ease.
I trust myself to handle whatever comes my way.
Take a moment to notice how these words feel in your body.
Allow them to become your truth,
Anchoring you to this sense of stillness.
Let's run through them once more.

Ask yourself,
What quality do I want to carry with me today?
Perhaps it's calm,

Whatever arises for you when you ask this question,
Just trust it.

Hold this intention in your mind like a glowing light.
Imagine yourself carrying this quality into the hours ahead,
Letting it guide your actions and thoughts like a steady flame.
And now,
Just take one last deep breath in and let it out slowly.
Bring your attention back into the room with you and in your own time,
Gently open your eyes and return now to your surroundings.
Remembering that this calm,
Centered version of you is always here and no matter what happens today,
You can return to this stillness,
To this peace,
Whenever you need.
