Dear Friend, If you experience physical pain, discomfort, or difficult sensations, this 15-minute mindfulness practice is for you. Rather than trying to force the pain or discomfort away, we will practice meeting our experience with kindness and curiosity — slowly and intentionally building our capacity to be with what is here. In this meditation, we will explore grounding attention in an anchor, welcoming the full spectrum of sensations during a body scan, and bringing kind awareness to an area of mild pain or discomfort. Multiple options for resourcing and building resilience will be provided. This practice is designed to be gentle and trauma-informed, though this is tender territory that should be approached slowly and with care.
