Sitting in a comfortable position,
Allow your body to begin to soften and relax.
Place both feet firmly on the floor and ensure your arms and legs are loose and uncrossed.
Now,
Draw in a deep breath through your nose,
Allowing it to completely fill your stomach,
Then exhale through the mouth.
Take in a nice deep breath through your nose and exhale.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
With every inhalation,
Imagine breathing in the feeling of relaxation and with every exhalation,
Just breathe out any stress or tension that you may be holding onto.
Breathing in relaxation,
Breathing out tension.
Breathing in relaxation,
Breathing out tension.
With every breath,
You feel calmer and more relaxed.
Calm and relaxed.
Now,
Keeping this calm deep pattern of breathing,
I want you to bring your awareness to your feet.
Feel them resting firmly on the floor beneath you.
Then I want you to use your imagination to imagine beautiful golden roots that begin to grow from the soles of your feet and stretch down through the floor beneath you.
Down through the building,
Down through the foundations and down through the beautiful,
Cooling,
Nurturing earth.
Just allow those roots to spread deep down into the earth,
Spreading out,
Drawing up that wonderful,
Grounding,
Earthy energy.
Just feel that energy begin to travel up through the roots,
Back into the soles of your feet.
Feel your feet just let go and relax as that calming energy washes over them,
Releasing any tension.
Now allow that energy to travel up through your ankles and your calves.
Just softening,
Relaxing.
Allow it to travel further up into your knees,
Your thighs,
Your hips.
Letting go and relaxing.
Travelling up further into your lower back and your lower stomach.
Softening and relaxing.
Travelling up along all the muscles either side of your spine.
Releasing,
Relaxing.
Up into your shoulder blades and your upper chest.
Just letting go and relaxing now.
Allow that wonderful energy to smooth across your shoulders.
Loosening and releasing any tension stored here.
Letting go.
Relaxing.
That wonderful energy travels down your arms,
Into your wrists and your hands.
Softening and relaxing all the muscles.
Just letting go.
Now,
Feel that energy smoothing across your shoulders.
Travelling along your neck.
Releasing any stress or tension as it travels up into your jaw,
Into your mouth,
Your tongue.
Just letting go and relaxing.
Allow that energy to now smooth across your face.
Loosening all those little muscles around your nose and your eyes.
Smoothing across the whole of your head.
Leaving your forehead serene and relaxed.
Now just allow that remaining energy to wash over the top of your head.
Softening and releasing all of those tiny muscles in your scalp.
Just let go.
Relax and enjoy this moment of total peace and relaxation.
Now I want you to imagine yourself stood on a beautiful beach.
You have the beach entirely to yourself.
You stop for a moment to just take in all the detail.
It's a warm day and you can feel the sun warming your skin as you stand there.
You can hear the waves lapping at the shore ahead of you.
You feel compelled to walk towards the sea.
And when you get to the sea,
You let the waves gently lap at your feet for a moment.
Watching as the water moves in and out.
Soothing your feet.
You slowly sit in the shoreline,
Allowing the water to just cover you from below the waist.
It's warm and relaxing as you sit in the water.
As you sit there,
You begin to allow your body to go limp and loose.
Noticing how the more you release any resistance in your body,
The more the water gently sways and moves you.
Just soften your body more and more and let it slowly move with the water.
As the waves gently move in and out.
Your body releases more and more resistance.
Softens,
Simply allowing yourself to be moved by the energy of the sea.
Being in a wonderful state of non-resistance.
Which allows you to live in the flow.
Releasing tension from your body.
Releasing your resistance to the world.
You just enjoy this feeling for a moment.
And with your body feeling so wonderfully relaxed and calm.
You feel mentally and physically refreshed.
And you know that you can take that feeling forward for the rest of the day,
The rest of the week.
You have released any resistance within your body and mind.
And with that knowledge,
You slowly stand from the water and walk away from the sea.
As you walk away,
You allow yourself to slowly return back to your physical surroundings.
Becoming slowly aware of your physical presence.
As you begin to wiggle your toes,
You feel energy starting to rise from your feet.
Energy rising through your legs.
Just waking ever so gently.
Up through your torso as you feel all of your cells starting to wake.
Gently waking now.
You slowly wiggle your fingers and begin to feel energy rising up through your arms.
Waking your whole body.
And know that whenever you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes.
Refreshed,
Relaxed.
And ready to continue with the rest of your day.
Open your eyes,
Stretch and smile.
