Thank you for choosing this meditation for nurses.
This is a mini meditation to bring mindfulness into your everyday work life.
The first step is becoming aware of the present moment.
So just take a moment to settle.
In whatever position you're in.
Becoming more aware.
Of what you're feeling in this moment.
Keeping your eyes closed.
Lower your gaze.
Just focus your attention in on your breath.
Focus on the in-breath.
And the out breath.
Just bringing your awareness to your inner experience.
By asking.
What am I experiencing right now?
What thoughts are going through your mind.
No need to follow the thoughts themselves.
Just noticing.
You might ask,
What are you feeling right now?
To yourself quietly.
Is there any sense of discomfort?
Physically.
Or any unpleasant feelings that you can acknowledge.
Maybe you're feeling stressed.
Or tents.
Of the multitasking has you feeling somewhat anxious.
How do you feel that in your body?
Let's do a quick scan of the body.
Pick up on any sensations of tension,
Tightness.
Try not to judge any of it.
Just notice.
Just moving to the breath.
Paying attention.
Where you feel the breath the most.
Maybe it's in the belly as it expands with the in-breath.
And falls with the out breath.
Notice the breath as it goes in through the nose,
Filling your throat.
Up your chest.
Just follow the breath all the way in and all the way out.
Just expanding your awareness now around the breathing.
To include the sense of the body as a whole,
Your posture,
Your facial expression,
The way your body's standing or seated.
Just breathing in and out as you feel your body.
Feel yourself in this space,
In this moment.
Just breathing.
As a way to come back.
Feel the awareness of your body breathing.
You may begin to wiggle your fingers or your toes.
Or gently stretch your arms.
And when you're ready,
Allow your eyes to open.
I hope this mini meditation helped to bring some mindfulness and clarity.
To your shift.
Thank you,
And thank you for your practice and for the work that you do.
