Loving Someone In Crisis And Avoiding Burnout
by Kim Abrahams
When someone you care about is navigating a mental health crisis, supporting them can quickly turn into self-sacrifice. If you are running on empty, struggling with caregiver stress/burnout, or feeling a profound sense of loneliness in your relationship, this session is a quiet space to pause, breathe, and reset. It is remarkably easy to slip into patterns of codependency, where your emotional state, schedule, and peace of mind revolve entirely around another person’s crisis. Over time, losing yourself in a relationship creates an invisible weight. You may feel completely isolated, carrying the heavy burden of trying to "fix" or love someone out of a struggle they have to navigate themselves. This session explores the psychological reality of caregiver burnout and offers practical wisdom on staying boundaried with the ones you love most. Please note: This session is intended for support and does not replace professional mental health care.
