I want you to lay down somewhere comfortable,
Somewhere where you feel safe and just let out a really big sigh.
Maybe you turn your head from side to side,
Give your shoulders a wiggle,
Relax your jaw and just be in this moment of solitude,
Of quiet,
Of presence for you after everything you've gone through.
Infertility is such a beast and it's one so few understand,
So I would like you to take your hands,
Put them both over your heart and I want you to say thank you.
Thank you to yourself for making it this far,
For having the tenacity,
The resilience,
The perseverance to do the hard things.
You've made it to this point and that is something to be celebrated.
So taking a deep breath into the belly and letting it out through the mouth.
Now take your hands and place them over your womb and just feeling into this moment,
Feeling the backs of your heels,
Your calves,
Your legs,
Your bum,
Your back,
Shoulders,
Arms,
Your head,
All of that where it's making contact with the space you're laying upon.
Just feeling your body,
Becoming aware of the sensations moving through your body.
Are you jittery?
Are you calm?
Are you worried?
Are you holding tension anywhere?
Is there anywhere you can visualize your breath releasing tension,
Like turning a key in a door and just letting your body relax.
Be heavy but be soft and let your body relax.
Take another big sigh.
When we sigh,
We activate our parasympathetic nervous system.
This is our rest and reproductive and digest systems.
Every time you sigh,
You trigger that response and that's what we want when we're going through fertility treatments.
Take a breath,
Nice and gentle.
Your hands are over your womb.
I want you to visualize the ocean.
You're standing on the shore.
You can feel warm sand between your toes.
It's soft,
White,
Fine,
Beautiful sand.
You've never seen any sand like this before.
You're looking out over the ocean and you've never seen such blue,
Beautiful waves in all of your life.
They're gently lapping against your heels,
Wrapping that water around your ankles.
You're just standing in this moment,
Feeling the sun upon your body,
Smiling as you close your eyes and you take in this moment fully present.
I want you to imagine that your womb is the ocean.
Your uterine lining is the shore.
As you bury your feet into the sand,
The same is happening in your womb.
That your beautiful,
Tiny little baby is nestling into the warm,
Beautiful sand of your womb,
Feeling safe and loved and wanted.
The rest of your womb is the water,
Warm,
Beautiful water that's wrapping around your ankles,
Wrapping around your implantation spot,
Filling in and around your beautiful baby.
The sun that's shining upon you is the same sun that is going to help your baby grow.
Feel the weight of that tiny little life nestled in your womb,
Being held,
Being nurtured,
Being nourished by your body.
This is a perfect opportunity for you to pass along any message,
Any prayer,
Any wishes that you have for this beautiful life growing within you.
What do you want to say?
What do you want her to know?
How do you want him to be?
And keeping your hands over your womb,
Breathing gently,
Let the energy of your body infuse to the energy of its life,
Merging you to each other forever,
Regardless of any circumstances that come your way.
In this moment,
You are one.
Tell your baby how much you want her.
Tell your baby how hard you fought for him.
Visualize your body round and womanly and full of life.
Visualize your body growing with each week till you are a beautiful,
Round,
Delightful,
Happy,
Radiant,
Glowing mama.
This is your time.
This is when your dreams come true.
Let this moment be enough to calm your fears,
Calm your worries,
And to invite in the inner knowing that we all innately possess,
That this is your time.
Feel into this moment.
Lay here as long as you need.
You've earned it.
You deserve it.
Give yourself grace where grace is needed,
And give yourself rest when rest is needed.
Sigh as often as you can.
Big belly-filled sighs,
Keeping your parasympathetic nervous system activated,
Because in that state,
That is where the magic happens.
Breathe.
