One of the reasons I was drawn to this work is the profound impact of the upcoming guided meditation,
Which was inspired by hypnotherapist Sophie Fletcher.
I remember a loved one struggling to separate a past negative birth experience from her upcoming delivery.
I returned to this practice and it became a powerful tool for healing.
And after experiencing loss myself,
I understand how difficult it can be to untangle past stories from the present.
But today I want to offer you this meditation so that you can honor your journey,
Both where you've been and where you are now.
So when you feel comfortable,
Find a relaxed position,
Either seated or laying down,
And allow yourself to settle into a space of relaxation and peace.
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Release any tension you may be holding.
With each breath,
Let yourself sink deeper into calmness and gentleness.
Breathing in now,
Three,
Two,
One.
And as you breathe out,
Softly say to yourself,
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Now imagine a file cabinet in your mind's eyes.
It can be any shape,
Size,
Or color.
Whatever naturally appears is just perfect.
Gently open up one of the drawers and find a folder labeled pregnancy.
And inside,
You see experiences,
Stories,
And memories.
Perhaps some of your own,
And perhaps some of those of others.
Take a moment now to acknowledge what's inside.
Honor these memories,
The lessons,
And the emotions that they carry.
Now pick up a fresh folder,
A new folder.
This is where you will place those past experiences.
Label it in any way that feels right.
Perhaps with the past pregnancy's name,
Or simply past experiences.
And if there are stories that no longer serve you,
Allow yourself to release them now.
With gratitude,
Place this folder back in the cabinet,
Knowing that those experiences belong to another time.
Now take out another folder,
And this one represents your current pregnancy.
Notice its newness,
Its crispness,
The fresh color.
Label it with whatever feels right.
Perhaps it's your baby's name,
Or simply baby number X.
And as you open this folder,
Place only the things that you want.
Maybe it's affirmations,
Knowledge,
Or tools that will support you.
Add your hopes,
Your dreams,
And anything that lifts you up.
This pregnancy is new.
It is unique,
And it deserves its own space.
Gently place this new folder in the cabinet,
Knowing that it's always here when you need it.
Take a deep breath in,
Three,
Two,
One.
And as you exhale,
Let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Feel the clarity,
The organization,
And the space that you've created for this beautiful chapter of your journey.
And as you take another deep breath in,
Begin to bring yourself back to the present moment.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Feeling the surface beneath you.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Carrying with you a sense of calm and renewal.
This is a new beginning,
And it is yours to embrace.
You are calm.
You are confident.
You are doing this now.
