So,
We'll start with a simple earthing technique.
Find an area where you can safely connect with the earth and then take off your shoes.
And then after you're in bare feet,
We will press and activate the kidney 1 acupuncture point.
You can find this point on the sole of your foot.
It's about a third of the way down from your second toe.
You'll feel a little divot here and then with your thumb,
Press softly but firmly.
You'll only press this point for about 15 seconds.
I'm pressing it on both feet and releasing your thumb and placing your feet firmly on the ground,
Feeling all four corners of your foot connect to the ground.
Meaning to breathe here,
Wiggling your toes into the soil or sand and observing the sensation of your bare feet on the ground.
Feel the temperature of the earth,
Even the density of the soil beneath you as you allow yourself to sink in and be supported by mother nature.
Close your eyes to bring even more focus to the sensation in your feet.
Clear your mind and focus your breath as you continue to connect your feet to the earth.
Allow your breath to help anchor and steady your mind.
Say to yourself,
I am inhaling as you inhale and I am exhaling as you exhale.
Feel the earth's energy drawing up through the kidney one point as you inhale like roots draw up water.
Feel the energy drawing up and feel your connection with the ground strengthening on each exhale.
You may even feel the surface of your feet expand on each exhale,
Helping enhance your connection.
Just breathing here for a moment,
Focusing on your feet and feeling your energetic connection with the ground below you as you stand firmly on its foundation.
While keeping your eyes closed,
Add some movement to your body.
Slowly shift your weight to your right foot as you inhale and pause for a moment.
Shift your weight to your left foot on inhale and pause here for exhale.
Continue playing with your weight,
Shifting it from one foot to the other for about 10 breaths.
Feel the subtleties of shifting your weight from right to left.
Feel the center of your balance,
Both in the core of your body,
But also in each foot.
Then come to standing still with both feet firmly planted on the ground,
Feeling your weight even on both feet and feeling this firm connection with the earth below you.
Open your eyes,
But stay deeply aware of your feet and the ground beneath you.
Now moving on to the walking meditation,
Begin to walk very slowly at first.
You'll be walking for about 10 minutes.
You can have a designated path or you can just walk freely.
On each exhale,
Allow your full weight to land on the ground,
Feeling the earth supporting you.
As you lift each foot,
Still feel the opposite's foot connection to the ground,
Maintaining your relationship with the earth.
Continue walking like this for 10 to 15 minutes.
Make your movements slow and purposeful as if you were just learning to walk for the first time.
If your mind begins to wander,
Come back to your breath and the sensations occurring on the soles of your feet.
You can even make your walking more exaggerated than you normally do to feel each movement of actually picking up your foot,
Feeling that weight shifting,
And then placing your weight and foot down on the opposite side.
Continue walking.
We'll be walking here for about another eight minutes.
Keep your focus on your feet,
On the connection,
Maybe even on that kidney one point.
Firmly connecting with the earth's supportive energy.
Place all of your awareness in the movements of walking,
Feeling each part,
Feeling the subtle shifts of the weight,
The bending of the knee,
The placement of the foot,
Letting these movements absorb your full attention and awareness.
Perhaps even pairing some breath with the movement as you walk,
Linking breath,
Movement,
And the connection with the earth.
As you continue to walk,
Feel completely supported by the ground beneath you and know this support is always available to you.
This connection is always available to you.
Feel the energy of the earth helping to restore you,
Ground you,
And bring you peace.
Continue walking mindfully,
Connected to your breath,
Connected to the movements.
We'll continue walking here for about five more minutes.
If your mind begins to wander,
Bring your awareness back to the earth,
Back to your connection,
Through your feet,
Maybe back to that kidney one point and to your breath,
Allowing yourself to be absorbed in the present moment in movement and connection.
Then perhaps making your way back to where you began,
Still moving mindfully and slowly and with purpose.
Then after you've completed your walk,
Stop and stand still.
Close your eyes and feel centered through your body and with the earth.
Feel the energy of the ground circulating through your body,
Restoring it,
And bringing your entire system into balance.
Give gratitude to the earth for supporting you as she has done your entire life.
Also thank yourself for taking this time to connect with nature.
You can practice this earthing and walking meditation at any time.
You can even practice it in the rain to add new sensations and elements.
You can enter at any time you feel drained,
Anxious,
Or disconnected from your intuition.
This practice and Mother Earth are always available to support you on your journey.
