Welcome.
This is Jennifer Barba with Connecticut Healing Center,
And this is a space where your nervous system is allowed to soften and your body is met with compassion.
Wherever you are in your healing,
You are not behind.
You are becoming.
Let's begin.
Take a moment to arrive exactly where you are.
There is nothing you need to solve right now.
Nothing you need to push through.
This moment is simply an invitation to be supported.
Allow your body to settle into the surface beneath you,
Feeling that you are held,
Even if it is only for a short time.
If this feels comfortable,
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Gently deepen your breath.
Inhale through your nose for four.
Exhale slowly for six.
Allow the exhale to be soft,
Not forced.
Each longer exhale is a quiet signal to the nervous system.
You are safe enough in this moment.
Now bring your awareness to the belly,
The center of digestion,
Emotion,
And inner knowing.
Listen to the body's messages.
Body scanning,
Emotional awareness,
Intuition,
And somatic listening.
Be aware of any fatigue that you notice.
Give yourself permission to rest,
Receiving energy rather than pushing yourself.
Give yourself a moment to be kind to oneself and understanding exactly where you are.
Gentle visualizations of letting go,
Releasing stored up stress,
Nervous system reset,
Can be used through this gentle breathing exercise.
Take a moment now to inhale through the nose for four.
Exhale slowly for six.
Trusting the healing process,
Integrating meditation with hope without pressure.
There is a healing presence of meditation.
When we inhale and exhale at a longer rhythm,
We target the vagus nerve.
This allows some sense of healing.
It is often when one carries embarrassment,
Frustration,
Or self-blame around why their body isn't working properly.
Shame activities,
The same stress pathways that worsen digestion.
In this meditation,
Take some time to repeat there is nothing wrong with you for having symptoms.
Your body is responding the only way it knows how.
You are not broken.
Let's repeat that again.
There is nothing wrong with you for having symptoms.
Your body is responding the only way it knows how.
You are not broken.
This shift alone can soften the nervous system.
It is asking to be understood.
The gut responds well to warmth,
Increases circulation,
And the brain interprets warmth as a comfort and protection.
Let's breathe in for four.
Exhale slowly for six.
And allow that exhale to be soft,
Not forced.
Thank you for allowing yourself the time.
May your body feel a little safer,
Your breath a little steadier,
And your heart gently supported.
I'll meet you here again soon.
