Would you rather be a warrior in a garden or a gardener?

Most of us end up choosing the path of the warrior and the defender or the gardener and the nurturer without being fully aware that we are sacrificing one for the other.

The path of the warrior is someone who is prepared to take action.

It's the part of you that fights for your dreams.

The part of you that stands up to protect whatever is innocent,

Precious or important.

The gardener is our nurturing side,

Just as important as the inner warrior yet very different in nature.

The gardener is the part of you that nurtures your dreams,

Able to build a beautiful future for themselves as well as others,

Helping those around them to grow healthy,

Happy and strong.

Without the warrior,

The gardener is vulnerable,

Often unprepared and unable to defend themselves from the dominating and destructive forces they come across in life.

Yet without the gardener,

The warrior has nothing worth fighting for,

Becoming cold and bitter about a life without meaning,

Going through the motions of an empty existence,

With nothing of beauty or importance to protect.

When we learn to embrace both sides within us,

They complete each other like two sides of the same coin.

Embrace your nurturing side,

Take the time to smell the roses and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Choose daily actions of self-care to restore your energy and replenish your spirit.

Embrace your inner warrior,

Owning the practical skills and knowledge that allows you to take action when needed,

Always prepared and able to pretend important to you.

As we nurture our dreams,

We must also remember to nurture our inner warrior,

To become the person that our desired future requires us to be.

So what would you rather be,

A warrior in a garden?

When we embrace both sides within us,

Balance is restored like a warrior,

Peace in their garden,

With the ability to fight for our dreams and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Thank you so much for listening,

Until next time,

Take care my friend.

I liked the metaphors and also thanks for making that very valid point about needing both the ability to protect and something worth protecting.
