"Personal space is something that isn't a luxury; it's a necessity, like air or water." - Sabrina Choquette-Tully How do you get the space you need? And if you're not getting it, what would the ideal amount and type of "space" look like for you? Mentally considering these prompts is wonderful, but I find something magical happens when you take the time to reflect and write your responses down. The Gratitude Breakfast Club 7-day challenge is a quick podcast-style challenge to help you jump-start or deepen your morning gratitude practice. These short sessions offer easy and enjoyable entryways to reflection that help you ground your energy, connect with your inner positivity and strength, and live your day the best way possible. Every moment is a new moment, though, and gratitude helps no matter the hour on the clock, so tap into the Gratitude Breakfast Club any time you could use a pick-me-up! Let's keep it going with Day 2!

Hello and welcome to the Gratitude Breakfast Club,

A quick morning meetup to help you jumpstart or maintain your gratitude practice.

We'll make it quick because we know you have things to do on this beautiful day.

Good morning beautiful ones and welcome back to the Gratitude Breakfast Club.

Yesterday we talked about goals achieved and I do hope you found something to be thankful for in each of the categories we discussed.

Today I'd like us to think about space.

Not the final frontier familiar to Trekkies,

But our physical,

Mental,

And emotional space right here on earth.

When I was growing up in the Bronx,

New York,

I very much wanted to have my own room.

But as the youngest and with a house full of siblings and cousins coming and going,

It took a while for that to happen.

But happen it did and that solo room was a delight.

It came with additional responsibilities of course,

Which were sometimes really hard for my young self to handle,

But it was worth it to me.

I happen to be someone who likes being alone and doing things solo.

I hike and camp and go to the movies and the beach and to restaurants alone,

Thinking nothing of it.

But even if you're someone who loves sharing a room,

An apartment,

Or a home with many others,

We all need space to regroup,

To collect our thoughts,

And be our best selves.

And as I am a parent who didn't get to go to the bathroom by myself for a very long time,

I know not having that space takes a toll,

Even when it's for the very best of reasons.

So today,

I'd like you to think about what the ideal amount of space is for you.

Then I'd like you to think about how you carve that space out for yourself.

Is it a meditation practice?

Walks in nature?

Exercise time?

Deep dives into good books or shows?

What are you doing and what do you appreciate about it?

And if you're not carving out the space you need right now,

Or it's hard to do so,

Then I'd like you to think about what you would want to do to create the ideal amount of space for yourself.

Take a moment to imagine and revel in it,

Even before it happens.

As you imagine how good it will feel to have your space,

I am trusting that inspired action will come to you on how to achieve it.

With love,

Appreciation,

And gratitude,

This is Karen.
