Good evening,
It's Gina here.
Tonight we are joining Leo on his adventure to Jupiter.
So get cozy in your bed,
Make sure your body is relaxed and let's begin.
Leo sits by his window looking out at the night sky.
He thinks of the many wonderful adventures he's had over the past few nights.
He's visited Mercury,
Venus,
Looked back at Earth while sitting on the moon and visited Mars.
Tonight he's going to visit the biggest planet in our solar system,
Jupiter.
It is so big that all the other planets could fit inside it.
He imagines it's swirling clouds and glowing stripes moving slowly like painted dreams across its surface.
He can't wait to see it for himself.
Leo tiptoes to his little silver rocket by the window,
Climbs in and settles into his seat.
The dashboard lights blink softly and the engine hums a low gentle note.
Three,
Two,
One,
Liftoff.
The rocket rises smoothly into the night sky,
Past the glowing moon,
Past the red shimmer of Mars and into the deep quiet of space.
Leo looks out the window and watches the stars drift slowly by.
The earth grows smaller and smaller behind him,
A blue and white marble turning silently in the dark.
Ahead,
The golden pink light of Jupiter grows larger,
Slowly filling his window with soft orange and cream hues.
When he gets closer,
Leo's breath catches in wonder.
Jupiter is enormous,
A giant ball of swirling color and light.
Its clouds twist in soft ribbons of white,
Tan,
Pink and gold,
Moving in peaceful patterns like the slow rhythm of waves.
As he drifts nearer,
Leo begins to notice something strange but lovely.
The closer he gets,
The more the gravity of Jupiter seems to wrap around him,
A gentle steady pull,
Like a giant invisible hand holding him safely in place.
He feels the weight of it,
Not heavy but grounding,
Like a soft warm blanket resting over him.
The giant red spot turns slowly below him,
A swirling storm that has lasted for hundreds of years,
But even that looks peaceful from here,
Like a red ribbon dancing in slow motion.
After a while,
Leo decides it's time to head home.
As he glides through the stars,
He watches Jupiter shrink in the distance,
Its golden light still glowing softly like a night light in the dark.
Ahead,
Earth comes into view,
Blue,
Green and full of life.
Leo feels a quiet happiness as he descends through the clouds,
The hum of his rocket soothing like a lullaby.
The rocket lands gently by his window,
He climbs out and snuggles back into his warm bed.
Leo closes his eyes,
In his mind he can still feel Jupiter's calm,
Steady pull,
That comforting sense of weight and safety.
He takes a slow,
Deep breath in through his nose and out through his mouth.
If you're listening at home,
You can join Leo,
Breathing slowly in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Again in,
Feeling calm and still and out,
Releasing the day.
He imagines his breath moving like Jupiter's clouds,
Slow,
Wide and peaceful.
Each inhale feels grounding and each exhale like drifting softly through space.
Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Once again,
In through your nose,
Feeling your belly rise and out through your mouth.
Leo continues for a few more gentle breaths and imagines the comforting gravity of Jupiter pulling him down to his bed,
Warm and settled.
With each breath he feels a little heavier and a little more relaxed,
And as his breathing slows,
He drifts into dreams,
Floating through golden clouds,
Safe,
Calm and wrapped in the peaceful weight of Jupiter.
If you've enjoyed this journey with Leo,
Perhaps you'd like to join us tomorrow night,
When Leo visits Saturn.
Until then,
Good night my friend.
