Grand Risings and welcome to your brand new day.
This morning that is untouched,
The day unwritten,
Like a blank canvas in front of you waiting for you to paint the story of your day.
Begin by arriving into your body,
Gently noticing your breath,
Notice your jaw,
Even noticing the sounds that are around you.
No need to change anything about this,
Just witnessing all of it.
Then begin to exhale all of the breath out of your body through the mouth.
When you get to the very bottom of your breath,
Seal your lips,
Inhale in through your nose,
Take it all the way down into your belly.
Let the belly balloon,
The ribs expand,
And breathe it all the way up into the collarbones.
As you exhale,
Open your mouth,
Let it go,
And now soften your jaw.
All the way down to the bottom of your breath,
Maybe you feel your shoulders soften away from your earlobes.
As you get to the bottom of your breath,
Sealing the lips,
Inhale in through the nose,
All the way down into your belly,
Ribs expand,
All the way to your collarbones,
And when you get to the top,
Another open mouth exhale,
Let it go.
One more breath just like this as you get all the way down to the bottom of breath.
As your inhale travels in through the nose,
The lips are sealed,
Belly balloons,
Ribs expand front,
Back,
And side to side,
All the way to the collarbones,
And exhale it out of your mouth.
And now imagine an easel with a blank canvas sitting in front of you,
And you have a paint brush in your hand with every color imaginable in front of you.
If today had a color,
What would you choose that color to be?
You are the co-creator of your day.
Any color you choose is appropriate.
Take a big inhale in here,
Exhale,
And imagine dipping your paint brush into that color that you've chosen for your day,
And start to paint this canvas that color.
Each time you breathe,
It's another brushstroke on the canvas that is your day.
It's an intentional act of creation.
There's no need to rush any breath or brushstroke.
You are allowed to move slowly and deliberately,
Using your intuition.
As you begin to see the color spread across this canvas,
I want you to now ask yourself,
How do I want this day to feel?
It's not about a to-do list or things that you need to get done today,
But what kind of tone do you want to set and maintain for this day?
Do you want ease or playfulness?
Do you want groundedness or maybe a clear mind?
And I want you to now envision what color you would choose,
And let this feeling match this color.
Taking another inhale here,
And exhale to let it go.
Dipping your paintbrush into that new color now,
And with each breath you take,
Imagine that color spreading across the canvas.
You are the artist,
So as you add color,
As you shape this experience,
You do it at your pace,
One breath at a time,
Letting nothing hurry you.
I want you to envision now what this picture looks like.
See it in your mind's eye,
And begin to place your final brush strokes.
Inhale here,
Exhale as you place that paintbrush down,
Gazing at what you have created.
As you move throughout your day today,
Keep these colors in mind to ground you back into your intention of what you are creating today and how you want to feel throughout your entire day.
I hope you have a blessed and beautiful day,
I will see you again soon.
