Let's prepare to meditate.
Adjust your body so that you are comfortable.
Close your eyes.
Rest your hands in any way that feels comfortable for you.
Take a nice filling breath in.
Breathe deeply in through your nose and breathe out slowly through your mouth.
Do this again.
Now when you exhale,
Breathe out with a long sigh.
Continue this breathing a few more times to settle your mind and body.
You are ready to begin.
What words would you use to describe a superhero?
Try to think of two or three words to describe them.
Maybe you thought of the word strong or brave.
Strong doesn't always mean you can lift heavy things.
It can also mean you can be strong in your heart or in the decisions you make.
Brave isn't just for superheroes either.
You can be brave too.
Can you think of a time that you were brave?
Today we will imagine being a superhero,
As a reminder that you too can be strong and brave.
Imagine yourself in a super suit.
What does this superhero costume look like?
What are the main colors of your costume?
Are you wearing a mask?
Are you wearing a cape?
Is there a symbol on your chest?
What symbol is it?
In front of you is an old abandoned car.
Imagine walking up to it and using your superhero strength.
Imagine lifting it up over your head and throwing the car as far as you can.
Now,
Imagine a huge boulder in front of you.
It's even bigger than the car.
Use your super strength to lift this massive rock above your head and throw it into the distance.
Imagine now a massive fallen tree.
It must have been 100 feet tall when it was standing.
Imagine picking it up like a giant baseball bat.
Imagine spinning it around a few times before throwing it even farther than the car and the rock.
You really are strong.
You really are brave.
In your mind,
Repeat these words.
I am strong.
I am strong.
Imagine your heart glowing as you say this.
I am brave.
I am brave.
Imagine your heart glowing when you say this as well.
I am strong.
I am brave.
As our meditation comes to a close,
Draw your attention back to your real body.
Notice and feel where your body is touching the floor or chair.
Wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
Take a deep breath.
Now go ahead and stretch out your body in any way that feels good to you.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes.
Now go out and find all that's good in your day.
