This is a calming visualization to help ease anxiety.

Begin by taking a deep breath and let your eyes gently close.

Picture yourself at the top of a beautiful spiral staircase.

Notice the gentle curve as it winds downward.

Above you are many bright lights,

Creating a bright glow all around you.

As you take your first step down,

Reach out and dim one of the lights.

Notice how it becomes a soft warm glow.

Feel the step beneath your feet,

Solid and secure.

With each step you take,

Reach out and dim another light.

Notice how the space grows quieter,

Calmer.

With each light you dim,

Keep descending step by step,

Light by light.

Feel tension leaving your body as the space around you becomes more serene.

The air gets cooler,

Quieter.

At the bottom of the stairs,

You see a door.

Push it open to reveal your perfect sanctuary.

Maybe it's a cozy reading nook,

A sunny garden,

Or a peaceful beach.

Wherever you feel most at peace.

In this space,

You see a candle.

You light it and breathe in a familiar comforting scent.

Let that gentle fragrance fill your lungs.

Now look around this space that you see,

This safe place.

What do you notice?

Maybe you see soft textures,

Your favorite colors,

Soothing objects.

Name whatever you see.

Name them quietly to yourself.

And then check in.

How does this space make you feel?

Peaceful,

Or maybe just more grounded in the present moment.

Take a few moments to simply be here.

Let whatever you're feeling be here.

Meet it with acceptance.

You can carry whatever peace you found here with you as you walk back up the stairs and into your day.

Each step up feels lighter and easier.
