How beautiful the season,
The sun is warming my skin gently,
Gently,
Reminding me that inside of us is this fire,
This never-ending light,
Inviting us to be gentle with ourselves,
To just let go of all that is no longer life-giving,
To not be afraid,
To let go,
To not attach to things that keep us from becoming who we are meant to be.
So I practice letting go as I watch the leaves fall gently,
Ever so gently,
As if nothing matters,
As this letting go moment after a beautiful summer season.
No fear,
No clinging,
Just letting go,
Trusting that the ground beneath will gently invite the leaf to become,
To transform,
To become fertilizer for next year's flowers,
To become a soft playing ground for all the animals collecting,
Acorns,
The squirrels,
The chipmunks.
And as the leaves remind me that this is a season of letting go,
Once again,
Once again,
To not be afraid of change,
To not be afraid that the light might not return,
To not be afraid of the future and to embrace this moment,
This golden moment of letting go.
Nature embraces me gently,
Inviting me to be gentle with myself,
Non-afraid,
Non-attached,
Letting go of all that is no longer needed,
Trusting the abundance of nature and I'm part of it.
