Good evening on our Friday evening relaxation,
A really beautiful opportunity to bring our energy into our own lived experience,
Into our own lane of life where we're scattered all over the place.
Of course we are,
We live in communities,
We have people around us and our energy just gets scattered by information,
Noisy world.
So this evening is 30 minutes to relax into your space of you.
So we're going to take it really slowly with lots of sound and pause,
Not so many words,
There's lots of words this time of year and at this time in our lives,
In the world.
So we'll bring the volume of the words down and we really allow the music to deepen our relaxation.
We're going to bring our energy into our body,
I will do a relaxation so that your body can relax as deep as is possible on this occasion,
It will vary every time you hear the recording.
Then we're going to invite the energy of our mind just to settle a little bit,
Just quieten into what's here for us.
And we're going to come away from the external noise,
External energy and to notice where that external energy is causing tension for us,
Just so we can be aware,
It's not to change,
It's to have an awareness of this.
Then we're going to use that awareness to connect deep inside of our stillness,
Our relaxation,
Our quiet centre,
Our point within us so that we can ground and then we can integrate that sense of more expansion,
Less contraction into the rest of our evening.
So you want to make sure you're comfortable,
That's the most important thing and if you find yourself uncomfortable during this session,
Let's not sit in discomfort,
Let's move,
Let's allow ourselves to move and stretch and just do what our body wants to do.
So just take last few moments to just settle in your most comfortable position,
Checking any clothing isn't bunched up or your neck feels supported,
Your body feels supported,
Allowing yourself the greatest opportunity to just let go.
And allow your hands just to rest comfortably,
Wherever they naturally want to rest.
And allow your body to be supported,
Just as you feel your body's relaxed,
Can you notice it's able to relax into the surface you're sitting or laying on even more.
And then just begin to notice your breathing,
Not to change or to go too deep,
It's just a noticing,
Just observing its natural rhythm at this point.
And then gradually allow your breath to lengthen and soften any tension on each out breath.
Let's do this two or three times,
Just giving your body the signal that it can begin to slow down and relax.
Allowing every breath just to naturally let go of the day's tension.
And we're going to move into some body relaxation just to allow our muscles and our body to let go and deepen into ease and calm.
So we'll begin by bringing attention to the top of your head.
Just see whether you can relax the top of your head.
Notice if it feels tight,
Adjust.
Imagine or feel it melting with relaxation.
And that relaxation and peace you may see or feel a light or a sensation of warmth or maybe a color or a scent or a memory or anything.
Whatever supports your body to relax,
Slowly begin to move it down through your body,
Starting with your forehead softening.
There's no rush,
We're going to take this really slowly and gently.
Allowing your forehead to soften and your eyes to rest.
The beautiful laughter lines and crinkles and the things our eyes have seen and felt and cried and enjoyed.
Eyes resting.
Allowing our eyelids to feel heavy and that relaxation moves into our jaw where we hold a lot of tension.
Can we allow our jaw to relax and release?
And softening all the muscles down your neck.
Allowing your shoulders to drop.
Such a weight we carry,
We hunch up with tension.
So can we allow that tension to rest?
And feeling that relaxation move down our arms,
Feeling heavy,
Moving into our hands,
Which are so comfortable in their rest.
And let that softening move through the chest.
And as we soften our chest area,
It allows our natural breath to gently go even deeper.
If we feel heaviness in our chest area,
Which we can with stress and tension,
Busy lives,
Can we allow it a lighter touch?
And allowing that relaxation to move into our abdomen.
Cooling any heat.
Expanding any tension and anxiety held in our stomach.
Feeling safe and relaxed for the breath to move into our belly area.
Really bringing oxygen into a whole diaphragm and body.
And when we breathe more easily,
More naturally,
Without thinking about it,
Our hips begin to relax and soften.
And the tension we hold in our hips becomes lighter,
More flexible.
Allows us to sway with the knocks of life.
We are flexible.
And that relaxation moves from our hips into our legs,
Our strength,
Our grounding into our thighs.
Hold us so strongly without knowing.
Through our knees.
All the way down our calves and shins.
Into our feet.
Grounded in our body.
And then noticing our whole body.
Feeling softer.
And if there's areas still holding tension,
Just simply acknowledge them.
Often,
Awareness alone allows a release.
And we bring our attention to our mind,
Which may still be active.
It may be relaxed.
Maybe drifty.
In and out.
There's no need to change any of it.
Just being aware of our beautiful mind.
Such a loyal friend,
Protector,
Project manager.
Lots of jobs.
But for now,
Your mind can relax.
But allow thoughts to come and go while they get busy.
You can gently return your attention to the breath.
Just feeling into the energy of the mind.
And allowing the breath to slow it down.
The mind loves the breath.
It loves a rest.
You can almost imagine the breath moving around your head of thoughts.
A gentle touch.
And now begin to draw your awareness inward.
So the outside world,
Whatever's felt noisy or has pulled you about,
Can soften slightly as well.
Remaining there,
Of course,
But no longer demanding attention.
Just for a few minutes,
Allowing your focus to rest more fully with yourself,
Your breath,
And your body.
Just rest in here for a moment.
And from this quieter place,
Notice where your energy has been going.
Where your attention's been pulled about.
And how that's felt in your body.
Any tiredness,
Or tightness,
Or pressure.
No judgment,
It's just a noticing.
So becoming aware with how,
Where we place our energy affects our body.
We'll just be with that for a few minutes.
Noticing some of that tension that's been pulling you about.
And to notice.
So you're aware of the impact it has on your body.
The beautiful conversation with yourself that isn't around change at this point.
It's just about being aware of how the energy we put into habits,
Scrolling,
Conversations,
Or worry.
Just noticing the impact,
Or how our body carries some of that tension.
And having more of an awareness of how our body supports us with holding tension,
Or creating habits that may be trying to protect us.
Ask your body,
Ask yourself,
On this quieter point of your own,
Truth,
With less external noise,
With anything that's pulling your attention at the moment,
In your life,
What would support you most right now?
Not what you should have done,
It's not an action,
It's what would genuinely support your body and energy.
Just allow some simple answers to arise if they arise.
Or just allow the music to dissipate some of that tension.
And allow your subconscious mind to bring clarity at just the right time,
Whether that's now or later.
How can you support yourself even more with your life force energy to be less scattered?
We have a certain amount of energy and we get to choose where we put that energy in our life and in our day.
Some of those places energize us,
And some deplete and actually empty that cup of energy.
But if it's not replenished,
We'll run low.
So what boundaries of support will really nourish you to consciously and mindfully put your energy in the places that supports you?
Can you see yourself really gently having these boundaries of support so that you can be even more energized for those in your life and for your life?
And feeling that energy in your body,
Bringing that awareness back into your body,
Feeling the connection of your energy and how you get to choose where you place it.
Allowing a sense of being grounded within your own life force of decision making and awareness.
Feeling very much at ease.
Feeling very expanded in your body.
Rooted in your best interests.
And feeling that sense of groundedness begin to expand.
Knowing you do not need to carry everything.
Nobody needs anything from you.
And you do not need to respond to everything.
Sometimes a breath and a hold in your own energy is complete empowerment and a way to really protect your energy.
There's such strength in this groundedness and in these loving boundaries.
They're not a protection.
They are an integration.
Allowing yourself to be within your own energy until you choose otherwise.
And we're just going to take a few minutes here just to rest,
Find a little rest.
Allow the body to remain relaxed.
Allowing release and clarity.
Just for another minute.
And then gently bring in your awareness back to your body.
Sometimes the greatest replenishment is just a few minutes,
Eyes closed,
Bringing our energy back home.
Noticing your breath.
Noticing the surface beneath you.
Been supporting you all this time to relax and hear.
Bringing your awareness back to the room.
Hearing any sounds.
Feeling any blankets or textures of clarity.
Clothing.
And then gently bring some movement back into your body.
Might be your fingers or your toes or a smile or a stretch or a yawn.
And in your own time,
You can gently open your eyes.
