I invite you to just go into your body.
Saying hello to your body.
Might be helpful to close your eyes if that's comfortable.
And just feel the support of your body in the chair or in the bed.
Know that better chair is holding you up.
Nothing you have to do.
It's holding you up.
And if you have a blanket over you,
Just.
Feeling the blanket over you as you're lying in bed or on your knees.
Just noticing sensations of perhaps warmth.
Or any other sensations.
And then take that blanket or that shawls around your shoulders.
Clean on to it.
Just wrapping it tightly around you.
And just bring your shoulders down.
To hold that blanket wrapped around you.
What is what you feel in your body?
Sometimes deep pressure or pressure wrapping around can be very calming to the nervous system.
Can you imagine that someone special is just wrapping their arms around you like the blanket holding you?
Be someone living or someone who's passed.
It could be an angel or.
.
.
A guide,
If that's your belief system,
Whatever comes to you.
About whatever brings you comfort.
And just allowing yourself to just rest into the arms of this.
Person.
This person helps to hold you up and nurture you.
Showing you love and kindness and compassion.
Feel what it feels like to be held.
So gently bring your awareness to your hands and your arms as they're wrapped around you.
Simply moving your awareness from the person holding you to realizing It's you holding you.
Holding yourself in a self hug.
Holding yourself support.
And compassion.
Loving kindness.
It may feel kind of strange.
We're not used to hugging ourselves.
Notice if you can meet that resistance.
And then still allow yourself to open up to the feeling of nurturance that you can give yourself.
With a self-hug.
Touch is so important to the nervous system.
Calming the nervous system.
Helping us to feel presence.
Softening into your heart.
Into your self-compassion.
And you can stay here or take your hands.
To your heart.
To your heart center.
Just feel maybe the warmth or the coolness of your hands on one another.
And on your heart.
Your skin around the shirt,
Feel the texture.
And gentle pressure.
Your hand on your heart.
As you hug your heart.
Resting within yourself,
Softening to yourself.
And you can repeat the words that I'm going to say to yourself,
Whatever words work for you.
Dear one.
I know this is so difficult.
I am here for you.
We're going to get through this together.
Just sitting in those words and the emotions that come as you continue to send self-compassion and loving-kindness to yourself for another moment.
Opening up your heart to yourself.
You're honoring yourself.
You're making a commitment to yourself.
You're committing to your healing journey.
And you're honoring yourself with self-compassion.
Faith and love and blessings to you.
