Softening grief,
A gentle release.
Find a comfortable position where your body feels completely supported.
Whether that's sitting upright,
Leaning in a chair.
Or lying down.
And when you're ready,
Close your eyes softly.
Letting the eyelids settle without any strain.
Taking slow,
Deep breaths in through your nose,
Feeling your chest and belly rise.
Releasing it fully through your mouth with a soft gentle sigh.
Taking one more slow,
Deep breath.
Definitely sighing the out,
The exhale.
And allowing your natural breath to return.
Becoming an effortless anchor to this quiet space.
Grief is not a problem to be solved or a flaw to be fixed.
It's the deep enduring imprint of love.
Finding its way through the landscape of your body.
Give yourself permission right now to let go of any need to be strong or composed or to move past what you're feeling.
Everything you carry is welcome here.
Your gentle attention inward.
Scanning your body.
With compassionate kindness.
And just notice where is grief resting within your body.
And just bringing your awareness to that area.
And if you're unsure where grief is being held in your body,
You can gently bring inner awareness to your heart.
And not trying to change any sensations or push them away,
Just simply acknowledging any sensation or charge.
Or even a hollowness.
That you may feel.
In your body.
And just gently acknowledging.
The sensations and your feelings here.
Whispering mentally to yourself.
I feel you.
And you are safe to be here.
I am here with you now.
And I invite you to place one or both hands over your heart.
Or over that body area where you feel grief reside.
And just bringing your awareness to your hands.
The gentle support that your hands give your body.
On the warmth.
Soothing contact.
Of your palms and your body.
Feeling that gentle weight of support.
That your hands give you.
And with your next breath in,
Imagine drawing in a soft,
Compassionate light that wraps around the edges of your pain.
Perhaps.
Imagining a color such as a light pink.
For love.
Just wrapping around the edges of grief.
Almost like an embrace.
And On your next exhale,
Just letting your shoulders drop a little further away from your ears.
Softening the muscle and tissues around your heart.
And anywhere else nearby,
You may feel tension.
Or bracing.
Or holding on.
I'm fighting it this often Even sending that light or that pink color to that area.
Embracing whatever areas need embracing,
Need comfort.
And then just visualizing your breath as a gentle tide.
Rolling on to shore.
Every inhale brings in comfort,
Space,
And quiet warmth.
Every exhale carries away a small layer of tension,
Allowing the heaviness to soften just a little.
You're not forcing the grief to leave.
You're just simply creating enough space within yourself.
So that I no longer feel so overwhelming and compressed.
You're offering space for grief to move like water.
Passing through you.
Natural pace as much or as little as it wants to.
You're just holding space for grief.
And as you hold space for grief.
Repeating these words or any words that may feel right for you silently in your mind.
And letting these words settle in your body.
I honor my creed.
Where it is a reflection of my love.
I allow myself to feel without judgment or rush.
I am safe in this moment to let go of whatever heavy burdens I no longer need to carry.
I am breathing.
I am present I am whole.
And take another deep breath,
A nourishing breath,
Feeling your hands.
Supporting the gentle rhythm of your heart as you breathe.
And taking one last moment or more if you wish.
Again,
Just to acknowledge grief.
Offering its space and movement.
And knowing that grief is there because of love.
And even feeling the love in your heart.
And inviting love to wrap around the sensations of grief.
Folding it.
Nurturing it.
Loving it.
Honoring.
And letting it go whenever it feels right for it to move through space.
Moving out of the breath.
And taking a nice heel in.
And exhale out with a gentle sigh.
And thanking yourself for this time.
And thinking whatever might have given you that sense of grief.
Through love.
Thanking the love.
Thinking the experiences.
That make you.
Experience being human.
And another inhale.
In and out,
Yeah.
And wiggling your fingers and toes.
Whenever you're ready to come back to the room.
Looking around your space.
